Okay, so here goes. My wife was super excited about Dust 514, and wanted to try it. We saw that it popped up on the PSNetwork on the 26th (I realize it was up there early, but this is when we saw it). I downloaded it on the PS3 she had given me for Christmas, and poked around for a little bit, played a few games, let her play a few games. We both liked it so much that I bought her a PS3 and another 40 inch TV so we could play side by side.
A little background about us, I have played FPSes in the past, but mostly on PC, and I'm generally a 1:1 k/d ratio player. She has never played any console FPSes and I'm not sure if she's ever played any on the PC. She is really into how the Dust 514 and EvE online worlds will play together, and I could totally see her doing both, playing a Pilot, and a Merc. I only have plans to play a Merc as EvE doesn't seem my thing, I played it about 4-5 years ago, and couldn't get out of the tutorial area.
She is not very good. She isn't tactically aware, she struggles with CQC and she is just typically what you would think of when you think of a "girl gamer". God bless her tho, I love her. (She makes a mean sandwich). She wants to learn tho, she plays more than I do most nights, and bless her does she try hard. I'd like to find somewhere the players are more mature, patient, and helpful to her, because when I try to tell her something, it doesn't go over well. All you married men know what I'm talking about.
I'm more laid back, I have a headset (so does she, although she never uses it). I can't say I care too much about getting in to corp battles, probably going to be more of a squad player, but, I wouldn't mind corping if needed, or if I felt like I could contribute something.
I guess in the end, what I'm saying is, Laid back late-20's couple ISO mature, laid-back Corp. I don't mind taking orders, but not when I can hear the pubescent voice-cracks of the person raging/trying to give them on the other headset.
Thanks for the look-see.
Cheers! |

As one half of that husband/wife combo, I can attest that DSR is a good place to be. Active members and patient squad leaders. |

Dead Six Initiative is recruiting as well. We're just starting out and aiming more towards Caldari FW with an emphasis on "casual unless otherwise requested." Any questions, just look for my post in this forum or join Dead Six Chat when I'm online and I'd be happy to talk to you both. |

I have been rollin with Celtic Anarchy for a few days now, I have had nothing but mature conversations with the leadership and their members. Great matches, Great teamwork, Great corp and no pubescent cracks or raging. At least give us a try, you technically have nothing to lose. |

You could do worse than join us at ON THE BRINK, we're EU and US TZ mostly, and although we're not the biggest, by jingo we're determined to be the best.
We welcome "casual" players as much as we welcome "the hardcore" as we understand that RL often takes priority over pewpew. We have internet spaceship drivers in the ranks as well as pure shootists, and love using our mics to laugh/cry/rant (delete as appropriate) with each other while drilling the red dots with holes, but a mic is less important than the ability to hear your squad leader.
ON THE BRINK is not just a shoot ppl in the face corp. we are like a family. We do our upmost to help everyone within the corp. with everything from skills, tips, isk to things outside the game like advise or just someone to talk with.
There are many things ON THE BRINK can offer u such as active forum where you can contact us 24/7. Help with building your character, squads that will help you win games, tactics to help you with your play style, and also isk or replacement for tanks and drop ships lost in battle.
We offer to our recruits and alliances an elite well trained corp. where we can take commands and give them. We will not hide in the shadows we will always be on the front line. If you are to ever need back up from us or our eve contacts we will be glad to help.
Contact us in-game (we have a public chat channel "OTB") or via the boards at onthebrink.boards.net |

Dear Swansea and Mrs Swansea,
Even tough our name sounds professional, our members are part of the elite and we are active in corp battles. It doesn't mean we force our members to become just that, quite the opposite really. We encourage teamwork and social interaction which leads to grown in both your character in game and in real life.
We also have some lady members encase your wife ever feels alone between all those men, actually one of these lady members is one of the best heavies we have and she kicks butt!!
With over 300 members I am sure you be able to find people to squad up and they all have microphones as well!
I am not going to do a sales pitch but instead I let you try out the product for free and let you and your wife judge it for yourself.
Ingame press the + symbol on your neocom and type in the following: Tritan Industries C&C
Here you can team up with other mic users and with our Tritaniers, try us out! If you like us, you can apply online first and after that you have to apply ingame and say you filled in a forum application.
Our website: http://tritan-industries.com/
I am sure once you had a taste of Tritan, you will never want to go anywhere else! |
