Since closed beta, my local chat has been filled with fine people who don't talk waffle and seem to be able to type coherently. Not to mention their knowledge about the game, it was a vast sea of information and good conversation.
I recently deleted all 3 of my toons, to start a fresh. Now, my local chat is inhabited with people of another kind, an unsavoury kind. Now all I read is about how people are stupid, USA is number one, how I should believe in Jesus, and what will happen when China inevitably takes over the planet.
I want my old local chat back. How would I go about getting this result? |

Well, in Adacyne things aren't that worse for me (not yeat, at least). Would be interesting if there was indeed a link between what kind of people tend to choose each race when creating a character. |

If you cannot beat them join them.
Saying things like "USA" isn't that part of "England", usually generate good convo's.
Also ask why they think China will take over the world, they dont need to take over. The worlds GDP is slowly moving to China bit by bit anyway, if they have the money why do they want the jobless?
You should believe in Jesus, there is one in every Insitution across the world......
And as Einstine said " there are only 2 things that are infinite. The universe and human stupidity, but he did admit he wasn't 100% certain about the universe.... |

Local chat is determined by race? I thought this was the case and made sure I selected the same race for my new toon. Not one familiar face in there.

While this is true, I would rather retain the healthy brain cells that I have left, instead of destroying them by conversing with these clowns. |

You may have picked the same race yes. But what about bloodline an bd starting suit class? Different bloodlines are in different corps. |

Local chat is determined by the faction you choose for your character when you create it. Additionally there will be multiple local chats for that faction and you are placed in them randomly based on room each time you log in.
If you dont like the chat channels i suggest you try creating a character with a different faction origin..
Which faction are you in now i'd guess Amarr or Minmatar from the sound of it. |

I think the system you end up in is based on Faction, Race, and orientation (or whatever that last choice is).
Why did you delete your old character? Not being happy with your character name is the only good reason I can think of. If you picked a combination that gave you the wrong skill set that is only the difference of a few days of skill points, and you may be able to use those skills later. |

The time of day has a big effect on how many C.H.U.D.s are on local, too. |

I couldn't remember my previous bloodline. Now I mention it, I can't remember my current one.

Caldari, same as my previous. If the room is randomised on login, I may get lucky next time.

I'm quite meticulous when I do things, and hate excess. I had tried some new skill sets and weapons out, didn't like them, and couldn't unlearn them. I deleted 700k SP and 2milISK for the sake of deleting skills that cost me around 30kSP. |

The starting solar system for Dust is based on race and bloodline. Local chat is the channel that is specific to that solar system. For Dust you're locked to that solar system unless you go into a fight, then it jump clones you to the warbarge in orbit over the planet you're fighting on. One Duster in my corp asked me while I was on one of my EVE characters about my fancy clothes. He didn't realize that the two games were connected so it took some explaining. |
