Can't recall exactly what it was called off the top of my head but the Dropsuit skill is used to unlock new Dropsuits and I think increase CPU/PG by 5%.
This skill has an Ridiculously high SP cost multiplier and I'm wondering if the advanced suits are really worth the investment. I run an assault merc and my current Dropsuit is the Raven Assault type-I, unfortunately I just started with the game and didn't realize I could check stats and stuff and to my dismay the thing was exactly the same as my isk AssaultT1 . It's permanent so thats good. Back on topic, do those of you who have the more advanced suits specifically the Assault find a significant diffrence in your performance, do you feel it was worth the SP investment? I skimmed through the stats and it looks like I'm just trading off lower shielding for higher armor and vice versa, as well as a small speed boost.
So thoughts?
Also, please add a comparison tool for the marketplace. Thanks. |

Dropsuit operation skill ceases being useful past 3

past that the actual skill bonus is 5% reduction to scan profile per level. this makes you harder to pick up on the radar. There's no specialist suits to justify dropsuit operation 4-5 yet. even though that is in the description. |

Dropsuit command decrease's your sig 5% per lvl and each specific drop suit skill unlocks higher tier suit's per level and yes they are worth it as each higher suit from std to adv to proto has more cpu/pg and more slot's

There are two variants of each of the dropsuits as far as I know and it really depends what class it is and how you spec your merc if the other variant is worth it or not. As for the assault suits I couldn't speak of how useful they are themselves but the main thing you're paying for would be increased slot capacity and PG and CPU.
Basically if you have trouble fitting mods you should consider skilling up in it or if you think the extra slots would be nice. I would look at the mods you want to fit on your suit and decide if having more armor, shields or whatever is worth it to you. One thing to pay attention to is if it's basic, advanced or prototype that's when you start to notice a difference. The other variant doesn't have better stats per say it's mostly just different. Once you hit advanced though they start getting enough extra slots and PG/CPU to actually see a difference. If you didn't already know most of that information is in the fittings tab when you're looking at a suits details. |

So sorry, I used the wrong skill name, just checked and it's called the "Caldari Assault Dropsuit" skill, the multiplier is 8x and it's used to unlock more adavnced assault suits. So what I'm asking is, are the advanced suits worth the huge SP investment? |

Ok, since the actual stat increases are marginal all I'm really paying/investing for are more slots and CPU/PG. Hardly seems worth that much SP, but I guess it prevents people from being super soldiers ina couple of days with buffed out fits. Thank you for the reply. I also bought 100 killswitch Gek assault rifles and I can't fit them because the CPU requirement is huge. They've just been sitting in my armory for days now, I guess I have no choice but to upgrade then. |

He's talking about the Caldari Assault Dropsuit skill which unlocks the advanced and prototype suits which have more cpu/pg etc.
There are then 2 types of each, one balanced in favour of shield the other towards armor.
Your type I is a basic armor suit ... type II a basic shield suit Advanced A is armor ... B is shield and prototype vk.0 is armor ... vk.1 is shielded
As you said you get more cpu and pg as you go up so the options for fitting complex shield extenders and armor plates and damage mods with prototype weapons all become possible the higher up the suits you go.
Edited : here's a consideration ... the prototype assault suit gets 3 highs and 4 lows (or the reverse for the vk.1 shield suit) AND youget 2 equipment slots ! |

Get the A or B class Assault Suit. You will have a "decent" CPU/RA. Then, train your "shields skills" to get the best modules (66+ in shields). Then get your best weapon, and then get for the Proto Suit (if you want). Difference between advance and proto it's not that much. Because if you play covered, you won't die a lot, at least someone takes you from behind. Running Proto or Advance, if you go straight to all the red points like Kratos in God of War, you will die easy, using advance, proto, or militia. It's that simple. A proto sniper rifle will need 2 shoots to kill a Proto Suit, as an advance with full shields (66).
Get the A Suit, then train all the modules that you use. Shields, Armor, Weapon, etc. Then, go for the rest of your suits. Play covered, and you will be able to play against anyone. It's not that hard. Use your radar, don't go straight to any red point that you see in it. Take peoople from behind. Who shoots first, shoots twice.

If you are running assault you can stop at Dropsuit Command 1 for now. There are higher priorities for a new player than scan precision bonus. Caldari Assault Dropsuit prereqs only require Dropsuit Command 1. If the SP are already spent, don't worry. It's not wasted in the long run.
Caldari Assault 2 unlocks Type II suits - definitely worth it IMO. More shields in exchange for slightly less armor. Improved CPU and PG as well. I'm new, so my setup is mostly buffer. Two shield extenders, one armor plate, and one armor repair. Vets won't need that much tank, but I'm still learning the ropes and buffer covers a few mistakes.

I would note that you could put a CPU mod on your fitting and it might be enough to use them for the moment. It would probably be better in the long run to just skill up though. |

Absolutely worth it.
With a caveat: Don't use a prototype dropsuit unless you can AT MINIMUM fit advanced modules and weapons or it is a paper tiger waiting for me and others like me to destroy it for the funzies. |

Great thanks, I think I'll just skill up to level 5 and then use the cheaper advanced suits and then start using the prototype's when I'm more financially stable and better at the game. At, least I'll be prepared if they release any new awesome assault suits
Do you think they'll add blueprints for the more advanced suits in the future? |

No. quite frankly the BPOs should remain militia and level 1 point as a leg up for the perennially poor. They shouldn't be there to take away the risks in using a ragefit the way i enjoy doing frequently. |

Don't train it to 5 till you want to use proto suits, its about 1.2million sp to go from 4 to 5. There are alot of useful things to do with those points.
I use the type-II, it has more shield and pg/cpu without being to expensive or needed a lot of sp. The B is also good, but I would wait till I had weaponry 5, most of the shield and armour skills at 4, weapon of choice at lv5 and a few other skills trained up.
I personally won't worry about training for proto suits till well after I've spent 10 million sp in other areas. I had dropsuit command 3 last build, and was thinking of training it to 4, but saw no need to train for proto suits yet. |

As a rookie youre doing fine with a Type-II assault for the moment. But when you progress you want better weapons, better modules and other stuff. There is a big problem with that cause low end suits suffer from CPU/PG. Another thing is that better suits have more module slots. So for a example take this here: Type-II suit = 2 complex shield extenders (132 HP bonus) B-series = 3 complex shield extenders (198 HP bonus) Vk.1 = 4 complex shield extenders ( 264 HP bonus) so the difference between a Type-II and a Vk.1 suit is basically 132 HP on shields and the additional options to put armor plates in the low slots and 2 equipment slots. This comes at a insane high price but its by far the best suit in the entire game. Cause you can do a logi job like having nano hives and a nanite injector. To top this you can fit in allmost all slots complex modules/weapons/equipment without caring about CPU/PG. |
