Ive noticed about most the skirmish games I enter their is about 2 to 3 heavies counting both teams, 1 Logitech ocationally when I run into them, some snipers up to 2 and 3 usually; and then the overflow of assault armour AR people. I don't think is enough versatility in skirmish games.
You don't get enough classes in a game to efficiently fill each role in the game due the overwhelming of assault people.
its really just zerg and hope no one is guarding the null cannon, and then die and zerg again with the few other classes to help you.
I think i've only been in one game where their has been a shot-gunner.
Not my most constructive argument, but it explains my point.

Well. Assault and Heavy can pretty much cover everything. Little need for those other classes. |

Maybe it's just bad luck on your side. When I play, most of the time fellow Logis present enough competition for War Points. I actually sometimes yell at them to get away from my squadmates, because they don't let me get my 30 WP for their 25.
EDIT:

Huh, if you don't mind spending ISK on your Heavy fittings, then sure, think like that. Otherwise Logibros can save you a lot of trouble. |

Recently ran into a logi that I teamed with, ended up killing 4 people with my HMG because he kept healing me. |

Whoa, you're experiences and mine are totally divergent. What timezone/location do you play in? ARs should be the most widely used weapon. Their general applicability makes them the backbone of the Dust corps. The other weapons are used to fulfill specific roles in specific circumstances and shouldn't be used as an "alternative" to the assault rifle. |
