So this Thursday I'm looking to pick up something to start recording video from my PS3 so that way I can start putting together DUST tutorials as well as personal montages. The thing is, I basically have no idea what I'm doing. I used to record and post my Starcraft II casts, but there was no editing or cross system business.
Can anyone recommend any cheap or free editing programs (I don't pirate), or just any general tips? Anything, really. |

I may be completely wrong here but I think ms movie editor could probably be used for what you want if you already have it. I think most prebuilt windows 7 laptops/pc's come with it, but I'm not sure. (no idea about apple products) As far as recording game play I have no idea. You should be able to find (google) an actual free editor that works for you but you'll probably need to go through a couple of them to get a decent one. Freeware can be a pain.
Sorry I can't be more specific. Not a whole lotta help I know...

as for editing... corel studio pro x5 is a free 30 day download from corel studios...google it. |

as for editing... corel studio pro x5 is a free 30 day download from corel studios...google it, its a easy editing program that renders in 720 or 1080 HD |

Yea, brains been scattered and only got as far as checking out the actual recording devices and setup and what not, much searching remains ^_^ |

Oooo... Was just thinking, if you're in college (maybe high school??) for anything at all your school might be able to hook you up with a MSDNAA (whatever it's called) account if they're enrolled/recognized by m$. It gives you free access and download of a bunch of microsoft products but its only for students. Don't know if that applies to you but whatever they offer through the program is all free. |

I bought a laptop just for editing that would handle editing which was fairly cheap

which you can get something way cheaper, or go way higher. most big youtubers that have a steady income from youtube run MAC
