This is EVE. Shape up or gtfo.
(That said, this is also DUST, and it still most definitely needs work. So, the topic is certainly debatable) |

who said we shouldn't like EvE? I actually always try to get the capsuleers to talk to me in local. I see the EvE as the wise old grandma, and if they like you maybe they will give you a starlight mint. |

Well when a subject comes up about that's in comparison with eve usually the sentence goes like this, example......'the skill system in dust is too deep, nerf it', to which the response is always 'in eve the skill system is deep, it takes years to reach some skills', then the counter response is 'well dust is not eve'.
But I agree with the op, 'one universe, one war' it does indeed say EVE dust 514, in which case it should be the same across the board, just because dust is a console shooter it does not mean its exempt from the extremely steep learning curve that is present in eve. |

Where's the clones, why don't we lose skillpoints if we get killed? WTB 1000 clones so I don't lose skillpoints when being sniped (or maybe you only lose sp if you get sniped in the head...) |

EVE clones come in different flavors, each capable of retaining x many skillpoints upon reanimation, so capsuleers upgrade as their finances allow them to higher clone grades so that they can retain more of their skillpoints in their noodles.
What Chribba refers to is this.
And by the way, if an EVE capsuleer has forgotten to upgrade his clone and gets podded and forced to reanimate in a new clone body, then he will lose the difference in skillpoints if his character';s current SP is a higher number than what his clone body can hold.
Always, ALWAYS keep your clone up to date.

It can be argued that our method of immortality is superior to that of the kind that the capsuleer possesses. If I put a scrambler bolt through the brainpan of a dust merc, then he/she will just reawaken in a new body having remembered what happened to him as a result of our brain implants.
A pod pilot is mostly dependant upon his/her pod technology to transfer their brain patterns to the next clone body, so if I shanked one outside his or her pod and filleted them they have no way to have their consciousness transferred to their next body.
although another clone can be activated, it would have no knowledge other than the last time it was updated, and will have lost everything beyond that point - at least how i understand it.
capsuleers would love to have our form of immortality, i think. |

Imagine this was true. Now imagine a decent sniper. Now imagine all the damn QQ. Cups and buckets wouldn't be enough. 55 gallon drum sales would skyrocket. Might need to invest in a pool... |
