When I get killed (mortally wounded) from a high location and my body falls down, my point of view remains where I died. This makes it really jarring when I get revived by a nanite injector, and my point of view suddenly becomes where my body fell too. It feels like I just teleported to a different place when I get revived which can be confusing, and I don't like it. Having one's point of view get stuck in mid air really breaks immersion.
I think I would enjoy the view as my dying body falls down from a high place, or I'm flung through the air by an explosion. Please don't freeze the point of view of the player during death, let the point of view travel with the corpse if the corpse is still falling or being propelled by a blast through the air. |

Yep. The game knows where you died and that is where the camera gets located. Same problem for Logi Bros trying to revive you when you get hit by a LAV. I have had to hunt around to find the killing spot to do the revive. Which reduces the odds of success by a significant amount I might add.
The body falling further is just the physics model doing its rag doll stuff. Which may or may not be more interesting. It is just a design decision to pin the camera where the death occurred. I have no idea how much harder, or even if, to pin the camera to where the body stops moving. The decision is probably tied to the start of the time out clock now that I think about it a bit.
Are you dying to see what is down there? That would be funny. Not all that useful, but definitely funny. Although it would be simpler just to jump and die because of the landing. Except there would be no revive timer under most of those cases. |

My viewpoint was floating in the air once. Sure, it gave me an amazing view of a raspberry shooting my remote explosive and getting flung to the other side of the map, a memory I will always treasure, but I'm fairly sure that's not where my body was. |

I always hated that when I think I'm going to get revived at one location, but my body is actually at another. |

I've been the victim of this way too often. As a laser user I tend to find a nice rooftop to perch from, since the laser is useless at short range (and mid range thanks to the damn Light Sharpshooter bug), so thinking I'm going to be revived over a fight when I am instead revived inside a brawl I can do nothing to help one way or the other gets rather irritating. |
