However, I've noted that when I use an ST-1 Missile Launcher I get almost no war points compared to when using a 20GJ Blaster. My gunners just can't hit a clone with the missiles. I'd love to use them as they have a lower powergrid requirement which would allow me more powerful shield modules, but it all comes down to supporting my ground troops.
Are the Cycled/Fragmented/Accelerated missiles better against infantry? Or should I stick with the blasters? Also, I see that the missile launcher description says the missiles have a guidance system. Are missile turrets capable of locking on?
I usuallu opt for one blaster and one missile on my ship , if your goingt to use the missiles use the cyclic missile launcher so your gunners can get more shots of into a croud of reds, blaster wise my gunners prefer the stabalised blasters. Missiles are good for turrets ,tanks and for area denial whereas blasters are good for ripping troops appart. |

They haven't for ~6 or more weeks. They aren't going to. Unless they suddenly start working again.
Then you will be able use them. But not until then.
Have a nice day, keep on killing Red Berries.
I beg to differ dear sir muy ginners prefer at least 1 missiloe launcher on my drop ship , weve had fun removing turreets tanks and lavs from the battlefield. its also a good tactic to use missiles to scatter an enimy squad and then pick them off with the blaster. |

TBH the worst thing about DS's are the people that get in them! I can fly them across the map, park it right on an unheld objective, and they sit there... i have no idea what they're doing... after 3 more tries i killed them all by crashing into a building... i jumped of course.
Yea totallyagree with you the blasters for AI, me an my gunners have been using the dropship as a poormans gun ship lol , its really quite effective when you have one missile gunner to spook the redberries and one blaster to rip them appart. Also my missile launcher has been popping tanks turrets and lavs the like |

That's when I stopped flying except for the occasional trip to stay current or to try some fitting to see if it were viable.
They sort of work just as stabilized blasters sort of work. The problem is the vulnerability of flying low and slow with more aggressive swarm rockets and militia FGs. It's a lot of ISK and you need really good gunners to break even.
My prediction is that DSs will finally become useful transports when the squad size is raised to six, and then we will see them change the tide of battle.
