So is this what the 514 stands for? CCP's latest tweet -- "War is hideous, from the very first shot to the last. There is nothing but dust, the smell of burning, hot shrapnel, blood, a hint of fear." Separate the syllables - burning hot shrapnel (5) blood (1) a hint of fear (4). I may be reaching but it sounds legit... |

Old discussion is old. only CCP really knows, but first off, it isn't "five one four", its "Five Fourteen".
second, that passage reads "dust, THE SMELL OF BURNING, hot shrapnel, blood etc" punctuation is important.
If I remember correctly, 514 is a reference made in the novel "Templar One", in which they talk about the instant transfer of consciousness, IE DUST. other than that, I think only CCP knows for sure what the reference means. |

Let me break it down for you.
You take the amount of times Elvis has performed lived followed by the amount of lobsters in your kitchen sink and multiply that by the amount of virgins chained in your closet.
Coincidence? I think not?
That number is the same number as the signing of the declaration of Independence.
Swap the numbers around and chop off the legs of the sevens to make a five and you have 5-1
To get the last number you count the amount of QQ threads in DUST forums and divide it by 666.

514 was in a fiction piece CCP put out a while back. Buncha test subjects went batsh** crazy and were murdering each other over and over painting 514 on the walls in blood. |

I'll have to dig up the video, but I'm pretty sure I heard a dev being interviewed say it was 5-1-4, not 5-14. I Could be wrong though. |

I'm not doubting you Orin just swore I thought I heard that. But it doesn't help when commander Wang, CCP wolfman and CCP BLam refer to it as Dust 5-1-4. Pronounced five-one-four. I suppose they are wrong though right?
