So reason for this thread is simple. My K/D ratio seems to be going down even if I have more kills than deaths in a match. Like my recent one. Had 27 kills and 3 deaths, won the match, and still my ratio took a -.02 hit. Would someone mind explaining how this works? Because I shouldn't have a ratio drop with a high kill per death rating, and even if I broke even it STILL SHOULD NOT DROP!!!!. Any and all explanations welcomed ESPECIALLY from CCP. |

You could be bugged. Nice find, young beta tester. Go now and spread the word in the appropriate section of the forum or make a bug report.
Everything we find like this if reported calmly and sensibly can help bring it to the attention of those who can fix it, and will make the game better as a whole. |

Divide the number of kills you have by the number of deaths, eg you 27/3 match would give a k/d ratio of 9, if your total kdr was above 9 before then your kdr would take a hit. |

As far as I know it's kills divided by deaths. If your kd is say 2.0 and you go 6/4 it will go down because 6 divided by 4 is less than two.
What is your k/d anyway? |

It doesn't matter if you went 100/1, if your ratio was over 100, it would take a hit. If you provide your overall kills and deaths, or your ratio before and after this 27/3 game, then we can verify whether or not it is a bug or something like that. |

Also your stats don't update immediately after a match sometimes its a few minutes before they are updated. |

This.. takes a little while for the numbers to trickle down to your stats. |

If you play a match in which the KDR is lower than what your running total is, you will get docked.
Example.
You have 100 kills and 50 deaths, a 2 KDR. Let say you break perfectly even 10 matches in a row, with 10 kills and 10 deaths in each match (a 1 KDR). So after 10 matches you have an extra 100 kills and 100 deaths added to your running total.
Add it together and you would now have 200 kills and 150 deaths, which is a 1.33 KDR.
Not going "negative" doesn't mean your KDR won't drop, it only rises or stays the same if you maintain or do better than that KDR in every match.
So it's either a misunderstanding of how KDR works, or you truly do have some kind of bug.

It does. Whatever KDR you get in that particular game, your existing KDR moves toward that game's ratio (how much it moves depends on how many kills and deaths you racked up).
For example, let's use your real KDR - 682/323 = 2.11
If you play a game and go 3/2 = 1.5 KDR, your 2.11 moves down toward 1.5. It doesn't matter if you had gone 150/100, that still = 1.5, and your 2.11 would move toward 1.5.
Edit: Wow, lag posted, wasn't sure if it actually went through. |

With the numbers he gave us, he should have gotten a 0.08+ from that match.
So it's either a glitch or hasn't updated yet like the guys before me said. |

I'm more or less guessing this is a lack of understanding what KDR actually is...look at post 5 for my reasoning on this...
If you really do think its broke, like others have said, grab a calculator and check it yourself.
Like others have said, if you want to maintain a KDR, you have to always do at least as good as your target in a match. |
