Hi! So I love the vehicles, but here is something I noticed:
Keyboards have a key for an accelerator, but the controllers do not. Keyboards have significantly better control of HAVs because keyboards can maintain all forward thrust. The stick on a controller applies less forward/reverse thrust while making any sort of turn.
I know in that in future patches we will be able to customize our controls, but I would love it if we could do something like [square] for forward thrust and [x] for reverse. [square] and [x] are currently not used on tracked vehicles, and they could mimic W and S (or ED/RF ^_^) on a keyboard for better control.
It's not too big of a deal since I'm getting a keyboard soon, but personally I'd like to use controller for vehicles and kb+m for infantry. This is because I'm used to FPS infantry games on PC/xbox and drivers/vehicles on the PS controller.
I believe other tank drivers have not posted this before because they are afraid keyboard's or controller's control of vehicles will be nerfed, or that they'll set off a huge "kb/m has a huge advantage over controller" thread. I'd like to hear what other HAV drivers think. I hope there will be some positive feedback. I felt I should post this because it seems as though there are some other players who like to use a controller for vehicles and kb/m for infantry.

[Feedback Part 2]: Modules
One thing that I would really like to see is the ability to activate vehicle modules by pressing two buttons on my controller, instead of the long R2 trigger pull followed by the long stick movement. I think the current system should stay, but I would like the option to activate some vehicle modules faster.
I'm not sure how easy it would be to implement this system, but I haven't seen a game that lets me essentially bind macros to button combinations on my controller. I think some 3rd party or modded controllers let people do this, but I have no clue.
I suppose it could work for infantry too. Instead of holding R2, then using the stick to select equipment, then hitting R1 to activate it, I could press up on the directional buttons and [O] at the same time and my merc would do something like drop a nanohive. It'd be great for picking up dead players too. I'd like this as an addition to the current system, because sometimes you want to have the equipment out instead of just using it. |

Ok, so I thought about it more, and it'd probably be a bad idea to use those for forward and reverse, which is probably why they aren't used in the first place. If I'm moving with those, I wouldn't be able to aim! Perhaps the D pad might work? Although it'd be harder to steer... R2/L2? Idk how that'd feel.
Anyways, please figure out a way to make it work and feels comfortable XD! |
