So I think I've noticed that I'm most likely to have issues with choppy game play after being logged in after a while and also in maps that have many deployed vehicles.
CCP (or others) do you have any best practices to improve performance in game? |

relog every couple hours if you are on for an extended period of time.
CCP confirmed (long before new build and server merge) there was a memory leak, which is still prevalent.
After so often, you will start a map and framerate will go to almost 0 FPS instantly, requiring you to relog at that time.
typically what we do is 1 person has an issue, even if it isnt framerate (changing characters, mic cut out, etc. the whole squad will relog at that time.
it simply has to do with the connection to the server, no need to reboot PS3 or anything of the sort.
yes its an inconvenience, but you can avoid a lot of grief by simply relogging every few hours..
that is until that magical day that this is actually fixed.... |

I used to have major framerate problems almost constantly back in Codex, but so far I have yet to have that issue in Chromosome, not even once.
Although I think I only played about a week of Chromosome before I got an SSD, so maybe it's just the SSD that keeps things from getting too out of control
Because I have noticed that even if my connection is 100% and not being used by anything but my PS3, a lot of matches have a tendency to feel laggy (choppy and not so smooth gameplay). Maybe if I didn't have a SSD I would be in full blown framerate hell.
Also seems to be a lot of audio problems too lately. |

When Alpha/Closed beta what ever you like to call it (months ago rolled out) I was getting the infamous PS3 crashes/hangups..
It may be a placebo effect or just coincidence but "Restoring the PS3 Data base" made me crash a lot less and it felt like the game was running a lot smoother.. I can also tell you since I did that I have not crashed or graphic lag since Chromosomes release..
This may be something you can try but BE CAREFUL as it says in the below text "DO NOT CLICK ON RESTORE PS3 SYSTEM"
"What to do:
Turn off PS3 so the red light is on.
Hold and keep holding the power button. The console will turn on, and eventually turn off again.
Once off, with the red light on again, press and hold the power button. You will hear one beep, another single beep after that, and then two beeps in a row. After the two beeps, let go of the power button so it doesn't turn off again and you'll end up in the system recovery menu. From here there are a few options. Now this is important, DO NOT CLICK ON 'RESTORE PS3'. That will wipe the HDD clean. You don't want that. :O
What you want is the other two options, 'rebuild database', takes about 5 minutes, and 'restore file system' (your boot up code, restoring is almost instant).
These two options will not delete any content on your HDD, but it will nuke any music playlists you have, and if you edited track information on any mp3s, say you renamed them all to something less ambiguous than "track 01", the names and other altered data will revert."
I would give credit but I copied all this into a notepad can't remember where I got the info from...
Hope this helps REMEMBER DON"T CLICK ON RESTORE PS3 SYSTEM , unless you have a plus account you'll be doing a lot of QQing about all the save files you just deleted and the downloads you are awaiting...
:::EDIT:::: Since its been awhile I personally just did this again to my PS3 works fine and nothing has been deleted it actually told me that my file system was corrupt so it was rebuilding I wanted to try it myself before leading anyone astray.. |
