Are there any benefits when you create a corp?
what do you do with the corporations isk or resources once your the CEO?
I would like to create one.
But if there are no benefits it makes creating a corp irrelevant
and I'd be happy just to be apart of someone elses. |

Don't make a new corp. You'll get nothing out of it. |

Being a ceo is worst thing to do in this game. You spend more time sorting out arguments within the corp trashtalking with other corps. And having to deal with little pains questioning your every move. Than u will acuttly playing the game. I should know I'm a regular source off pain for my ceo :-) |

That would own if there where benefits!!
Like the Ceo could use corp isk to influence a battle
having team modules, weapons or whatever for his Corporation (only accessible in corp battles)
Ceo can communicate with his team about what they want to spend the isk / resources on or he could be a dictator and decide on his own.
The downside to this idea is everyone would want to create a corp for the control of power
What are your ideas? |

What are your ideas? A Board of Directors for the Corp.? |

That would work. The board being say? 5 people
these same 5 people could also have some Ceo privileges like starting corp battles or other missions.
That way the Ceo wouldn't have to be online all day to keep his members happy.
The Ceo could also set like a daily isk balance for when he is not on. so all the isk wouldn't be depleted if the corp kept loosing (while he is not on) |

There are really no benefits of being a CEO of a corp, many feel its a second job at times because they have to deal with diplomacy towards other corps that extends beyond the simple smack talk. Then of course internal affairs.
Luckily a smart CEO would 'delegate' just there are too many that try to do everything themselves which is why when this beta started having corps there are quite a few loudmouths that are no longer prominent. |

The CEO's job as presented by Calculon :

Depending on how your organization is put together the job is what you make it.
Do you want to operate on high and issue edicts : "Thou shalt fit AV nades, and prox mines, and it shall be called Jihad, and it shall be hilarious".
Do you want to operate more in the political arena, and spend your time on jabber/irc being slightly passive agressive and slightly threatening?
Perhaps you just need to embezzle a little bit to wet your beak.
Others may choose to roll in as the General of the Peoples and lead from the font. Or you could spend your time as a forum warrior laying traps for other potential CEOs.
Have high standards for recruitment. Only let in members with at least a 2.0 KDR and demonstrated ability to operate solo. High KDR players are always preferable.
Have directors you can trust and or work with. Let your directors do what they are good at and don't muck about with them too much. Good directors reduce your drama vectors, bad ones increase it.

There are 3 benefits to being a CEO
- You get to name the Corporation that you're fighting for.
- You can give Corporation funds to any of your members (directors can only withdraw it for themselves).
- You can't be kicked out of your Corporation.
All of the other benefits depend on who you attract with the image you want your corporation to portray and how you interact with other players, but those benefits aren't yours alone, they benefit your entire corporation. |

I didn't know you could deal out funds to other members..
It just seems that everyone has a corporation, to me there all the same.
To be honest when i heard of this game I was like Holy **** you can create your own corporation to take over planets..
I immediately thought of a scenario like command and conquer but FPS.
Now that i know there aren't any true benefits for the corp or the ceo besides isk which is a hell of allot easier to get than SP
It seems like a waste of SP to invest in the commander skill
People can say "well there is honor and discipline in my corp." I don't care who i play with. I just want to play/ build an awesome character and If a corp had benefits that would help my character besides some isk I'd be all over it
Idea-- What if The Ceo had the option to choose a global mod or something for his corp.
Make it simple and only have 4 different ways the ceo could choose to specialize his corp in (like when choosing a faction at the very begging when you create a new character)
and then create add ons (to that specialization) when the corp gets more advanced. |
