shouldnt that mean i can take any corporations contract, so long as it doesn't affect my own corp. in a negative way?

This. There is no real limit on which faction you can work for.
Theoretically you could work for Blood Raiders harvesting screaming, panicky civilians and throwing them into Blood Raider slave ships, condemning them to slow death by exsanguination by religious zealot lunatics.
Or you could work for the sanshas, in theory, weakening planetary defenses so they can come through and implant their hive mind implants into an entire planetary population.
Or you could just be vanilla and blow up Caldari sissies on the warfront. |

corp matchmaker is where your corporation's battle contract will show up for FW attack/defense. One of the directors has to accept one for it to apply and show up there. You can only get a corporation contract in a player corp. |

At the moment only Corporation Contracts are available other than the normal Instant Battles. These are contracts that can only be accepted by Corporations and the winnings go to the Corporation (as well as the collateral put up front coming from them too), so the battle affects the entire corps. This is why only a Director or CEO can accept or even view Corporation Contracts. |
