So, I was calling down a tank in a safe place. And an ally saw that I had been calling in a tank. So what they did is they had used their jeep to run me over, not sure how they did it, but they did. After they ran me over, they stole my tank and had gotten in blown up. I'm not saying that enemy tanks shouldn't be hackable. But why should I want to spawn tanks when I can get team killed and have it stolen? Granted, luckily this was a militia tank, but it still largely pissed me off that this guy didn't know what the **** he was doing, and he got it blown up >:(
Formally, my proposal is to have a customizable password in which you can place on your tank in custom fitting that you can give to certain allies. Four digit password that can be keyed by the buttons on the gamepad. I do NOT suggest using the "Soft keyboard" A simple popup UI prompting any ally to enter the correct button sequence on the keypad. Change nothing for enemies, allow them to keep hacking vehicles if they kill the one requesting it. |

lol my brother and I were talking about doing this to people today, ironic.
I agree the friendly lav thing is a glitch, you get speed up, aim for target then at the last minute switch seats.
Thus it thinks its an unmanned vehicle and will killz you.
Password, no. There is already a wait time before someone other then the caller can get in the tank, about 5 sec.
Fix the lav prob, probably. |

It would be great if you could save those passwords so that it can automatically entered. |

Not sure trying to use a password in combat is the best idea, but I agree something needs to be done.
Perhaps only people in your squad can use your vehicles? |

Has anyone of you actually stopped and tried to think what it would be like entering a password under fire? Let me suggest this to you: Order in a vehicle and try typing out a chat message before going into it. Nine times out of ten you'll get killed.
Now the idea of restricting vehicle access has come up a lot in the past 6-7 months of the closed beta. Passwords are a bad implementation, a better one would be some sort of permissions or access system where the vehicle owner can decide, on the fly, if someone can get in or not. He would even have the power to eject someone from the vehicle. I say owner and not driver because he shouldn't and wouldn't always be the driver but will always be the one who paid for the vehicle.
How does that idea sound? |

perhaps implanted rfid chips? share the codex with a friend or squad member and its like touchless entry. |

How does that idea sound? Then we do the save password function. Or have your vehicle primed for players who are allowed in your tank. Have their names saved or something. I hadn't considered the password function during a gunfight. But on the otherhand, ifyou're entering a password in a gunfight, you're not very smart. |

And you are just a troll. He wasn't expecting to be TK'd by a griefer and was looking for some method to keep from losing his assets to what he took to be a noob (who was more likely deliberately stealing and destroying team assets for his own amusement).
To the OP: Red dots are not your only enemies in public matches. You have to guard against every blue dot you don't personally know. The percentage is low, but there are players who prefer to obstruct their own team rather than play the game as intended. |

They should just add an option to set who is allowed in the driver seat. Have options of: Only you, Only your squad, and Anyone (so you can let blueberries have your free LAV if they need it). Also have the option to limit the gunner seats to only your squad, or allow anyone. |

Should definitely be an option to set it to squad only. I run a Mobile CRU on my tank so that my squad mates can keep spawning on me to support, but the effect is that it's always full because team-mates spawn on my tank, find themselves with a blaster turret, and never get out. :P |
