I played dust a ton on the last couple builds, moved out of the house and the acct I shared with my roomie stayed on his ps3 (obv). Nonetheless I digress.
STOP WHINING, YOU'RE SCREWING UP THIS GAME
This is now an open beta CCP is smart enough to take our input on the way it will finally release, you're passing judgement farrrr to early to cry OP on ANYTHING. For example, say a more experienced (read:intelligent) player specs only in to one weapon and damage mods, effectively making them a glass cannon. Bet your kitten he's gonna wipe you out quick, and likely he's smart enough to do it from cover. It doesn't matter if its a laser rifle a mass driver an hmg or a scrambler... If he's all damage, you're gone.
Stop making threads this/that is OP or "I'm seeing too many heavies/logis/snipers whatever. This build hasn't had the chance to go anywhere... If you keep crying nerf then eventually everyone's gonna have all the fancy shields and armor and we'll end up with a game similar to bloody black ops where to players can dance around and finish off two clips and still not kill each other... These are bloody guns... Not rubber ducks they are meant for one thing and only one thing... Killing the kitten outtve things. Nobody in the history of any war has ever said "maybe this gun is TOO awesome we should downgrade it so other people can enjoy war too" the arms/armor race is always going up, develop some technique to wipe out whatever the suit du jour is! New Eden should be ashamed to have such pansies pretending to be soldiers! |

YES someone with intelligence The recentest nerf rage has been about HMG its a heavy machine gun STOP TRYING TO TURN IT INTO A PIECE SHOOTER!
instead use your brain and play smart and you will see that the HMG isn't OP.
don't break/nerf one thing to fix your so called "problem" which is really a whining of "waaaaaaaa I can't fire first and win like in CoD nerrrffff!" |

Hopefully CCP will completely dismiss all nerf cries out of hand until at least one month after the reset (better yet 3-4).
Give the chance to actually invest skill points, develop fittings, deploy field tests and get some squad symbiosis going.
Even then someone with a well fitted suit, and the proper skills to support it will chew up a zerg rush of less well put together characters/fittings who've invested an equal amount of ISK/SP.
Furthermore teamwork outshines any single skill or fit build. Usually when someone cries "OP" it's either a lack of having all the facts (what were the fits you were against, what were the skills, were you facing the proper counter to your fit/build?) or your squad had weaker coordination than the opposing squad. As far as players who are not running in a squad.... well just don't write Nerf/Buff threads because solo is not the proper context to frame game balance in Dust.

People who try this game aren't going to come here to look for impassioned pleas that nothing is OP, they will just try the game.
If casual players feel that they are being bent over by older players they will just leave thinking that yes, things are OP. |
