I'm not a capsuleer so I don't know much about the Eve corps & alliances. But judging from all of these rumors, I thought the Goons ran Eve and everyone was afraid of them. But I heard they just got smashed....so what happens now?

The goonswarm alliance do not own EVE. They are (were?) one of the most infamous group of corporations consisting of Goonswarm themselves and other corps like TEST. The reason they're so notorious is because of their sheer size, it's strength through numbers, think of it like the russians in WW2, constant waves of men thrown into a battle; that's Goonswarm. They're also notorious for their trolling behaviour, but you'll have to look into that yourself.
The thing that happened recently was there is now tension between Goonswarm and TEST over some argument between the leader of TEST (I believe?) and some other players in Goonswarm.
I don't understand much of the EVE abbreviations so it's hard to understand what exactly is going on, but yeah, that's a bit of an education on Goons. |

Any eve player, or eve enthusiast (more where i fit), knows Goons lose... they lose a lot. But they can afford the losses they get, and because they are able to keep supplying loses and have mass numbers they essentially win any prolongued wars.
Particular battles, however, not so much. And this latest one began on a **** up from their FC, that led into them getting ambushed when they intended to do the ambushing. It escalated, batphones were signalled, 3000 players took part in the battle, Goons lost the most.
it wasnt for a war however, it was just a random operation that goons were planning. Wars goons will always win, or so is the trackrecord of CFC goons |

We didn't get "smashed" as such.
We had a non Goon running a fleet, he made a mistake and jumped a titan rather than bridging a fleet, then he got hotdropped and rather than taking a bloody nose when things escalated he called in back up.
DBRB is not a goon, but he did make some mistakes and cost us a couple of capital ships but even then, it's not like capitals are as important as they use to be. A few years ago, if someone lose the ships we lost they would get invaded and stomped on. Needless to say, those losses are not that big to us. It was only about 1.3 trillion ISK which is only a months income from our moons alone, not including taxes, market manipulations or any of the the other stuff we're involved in.
Yes we lost a fight, Yes we and TEST reset each other to get fights like this, we can't win them all. It wasn't a Goon FC and most importantly, it's not really that big a deal. Everyone loses fights at some point. |

they got smashed because of one fail titan jump, im thinking that lesser corporations will take over until they can gain their strength back. |

Goons have always been a bit of a laughing stock. IMO there hasn't been a 'proper' super massive presence in the game since BoB/RA back in the day. Now they were serious war machines. I mean, the only way BoB got taken down was through a game mechanic exploit from the inside. If that hadn't have happened they'd probably still dominate. Then again someone else has probably got a different opinion. |

The goons are actually mostly infamous because they attempt to manipulate nearly everything in EVE. Probably everything. |

Oh please. BoB handled things by throwing their hangers on in front of themselves thus having them soak up all the damage and losses first and grinding down the enemy before sighing and saying "Right, I guess we have to do everything ourselves." Would have happened anyways without it since Sir Molle is such bullcrap piece of work. |
