Never ever face anyone head on, pick your fights, use cover and stealth and speed to your advantage, retreat when spotted, let them come to you. If it feels like a fair fight, you're doing it wrong.

Depending on how you want to play with the scout I would suggest this.
Shotgun: You need to play a "Run and Gun" playstyle.Just keep moving and be accurate. You won't be one-shooting everything so just keep moving and be accurate as every shot counts seeing as how frail the scout suit is.
Sniper: Good for when you want to get to a sniping position fast but stick to the edge of the maps or on higher ground seeing as if an enemy with an; AR, lR, HMG or MD sees you you're dead also a sniper if they have good aim seeing as how fast the scout moves.
Assault rifle: Will cause problems for players in close range if you keep moving around left and right however because you are so frail you will die.
Remember you are frail so keep moving around and stay hidden, usually I kill scouts so easily with my assault rifle as they are not taking advantage of the speed. Use armor repair modules if you take some armor damage also some Light weapon modifiers to you're guns to bump up the damage a bit (Works for the three I shown)
Don't use SMG's for close range at the start, seriously even at close range they are weak, so stick to Scrambler pistols for now. Use militia varient dropsuit to start off with until you can buy the skill needed to unlock the standard varients. |

yah. Are you aggressive? Can you strafe and hit what you're shooting at? If so get an assault rifle. For some reason few people go assault-scout. If done right, it pwns face.
If you have trouble moving aiming, I suggest that you practice. Arramakaian Eka and I disagree on the effectiveness of a shotgun scout, but you can read his thread for that discussion and decide for yourself. |

The submachine gun is a great weapon, awesome for close range the pistol only has 6 shots in the beginning and is slow firing.. i can easily take someone out that has a pistol with my submachine gun. |
