So we got people lag switching right? Who the hell are theses guys that are so obsesed with their KD that they gotta ruin the game for everyone elses
I saw a noob, a brand new player (I squaded with him to help him out) on his first match just whipping the other team and BOOM lag switch and he gots nothing outta his match
Why can't it be were the sec you die or get killed its get thrown up on the servers rather than after..that way lag switching would be pointless

LULZ Lag switching.
Sorry it doesnt really happen, maybe it exists in some dark corner of the server but for the most part it doesnt exist.
However after a few hours of steady play given the PS3's use of the HDD you will get a bit of framerate drops and lockups.
Also the server architecture isnt perfected yet. Soon TM. |

I too would like to have extensive knowledge on how many games random people have played before in Dust.

Lag switching works if you are the host of the server. As far as I know, Dust and Eve Online are both hosted on a single server and there is no 'master host player', so anyone using lagswitches would just hurt themselves. I suspect your corpmates were either fooling on you, or you're making assumptions too fast. |

Also stress testing is part of the beta, huge influx of players = more lag.
I got horrible lag running around as a scout today but after 5 mins it seemed to settle down. |

You can you lag switch something the server refuses to any of her clients?
I mean we all have clients none of us hosts, if one lag then certain its his own fault. |

A game hosted on central server is immune to lag switch. A dev could do it I guess, but why would they?
Somebody with lag switch hardware would just slow doen there own connection or get disconnected, no way to use to advantage.
Call of duty hosts games on the ps3, so the person that is host can cheat with lag switch. Here ccp is the host, so only ccp could use a lag switch to cheat.
Quote:Operation of a Lag Switch
When the switch is activated, the device is designed to function for a few seconds on a timer, effectively blocking all network traffic between the local game device and the Internet temporarily. Used during gameplay, the device causes the person using a lag switch to appear to opponents as frozen while in fact they are still able to play locally and gain advantages in the game. When the lag switch timer expires, the local game device will resynchronize with the online game that appears to opponents in a sudden burst. In dust if disconnected you keep moving in straight line, and then get kicked back to the merc quarters. All gear lost is still removed but no sp or isk is earned from match. No local play is allowed, so it can't be used for advantage.
