Would be great if we had some kind of early warning missle detection system or anti missle flares for both ground and air units . This would be a great counter for swarm launchers. What do you guys think ? Too Op ? |

I love the idea of a sound when missiles go on the vehicle, because we can try to take cover with this vehicle when we listen this sound, and i love the idea to have more chance for a prototype vehicle to detect missiles of a militia swarm launcher.
For the flares, i think it's not a good idea, or maybe only if the vehicle aren't an LAV, and if it's a module, and only if the standard flares module allow to stop 2 missile, advanced 3 missiles, and prototypes 4 missiles, with a % of chance to destruct them (more easy for a prototype flare module to stop militia swarm launcher missiles, and more hard for a standard flare module to stop prototype swarm launcher missiles), because, if vehicles have the possibility to "drestroys" a lot of this missiles, Swarm Launchers will be totally useless.
And i think Swarm Launchers must have the ability to have faster missiles if you paid a skill for that (if missiles are faster, flares have less % of chance to stop them, and it's more hard for vehicles to detect this missiles). |

It says in the description for swarm launchers that they're built to go around countermeasures.(That's why they shoot 4 missiles at once) It bugs me a bit that we've never actually seen these countermeasures. |

That's why the addition of ECM would have to come with a Swarm Launcher buff - it was nerfed to avoid dropships insta-popping, where ECM solves that problem anyway. I'm surprised that the function hasn't had more priority entering DUST, as it's a core combat mechanic in New Eden. Here's a few module ideas:
>Target Jammer projects a jamming signal at a target vehicle or area of ground. Vehicle targeting is similar to logistics, but with a longer range. Targeting the ground projects a jamming signal cone at the area for the duration of the module. Those caught in the signal cone have a reduced lock-on speed, in extreme cases up to 10+seconds to lock.
>Quantum Flare Launcher (QFL) Launches Quantum Flares that emit a chaotic jumble of many targeting frequencies, momentarily breaking a high percentage of target locks. Swarm missiles are defeated on a percentage per missile based on QFL and Swarm meta levels, which will usually allow a couple to hit the vehicle. Any active locks weaker than the jamming strength are broken.
>ECCM locked onto allies, this strengthens the target's resistance to offensive ECM systems. Increases targeting sensor strength, while reducing lock-on time.
EDIT: I should note that all vehicle modules to date do not care whether they are strapped to a ground or air vehicle. This carries over to ECM, meaning that HAVs can trade some HP tank for less Swarm annoyance. |

I actually really like the idea of having to actively shoot down the missiles with blasters. Let my gunners play point defense. :P |

missile alarm yes, flares, maybe as a module? if so they should only defeat a portion of missiles, say 75% chance to defeat each one.. |

My gunners keep saying the same thing and i think they are good enough to do it , but a mod for countermesures would be awesome as well . |
