I am part of an online clan that is mostly into BF3 right now. We have our own servers that we use for practice and for clan nights and such. We are looking into adding Dust 514 to our games we play and are wondering would it benefit us to create our own corporation here and be able to do battles that way or would it be more beneficial to get aligned with a corporation already established and go that route. We don't play to have the best stats we are in it to win but also realize video games are for fun and if we forget that then why do we play? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks. |

Either/Or to be honest.
There is an advantage of joining an existing group is that they will be able to give you a decent primer on everything Dust.
Unless of course you find it fun to figure out everything by yourself.
Some might say it would be best to ally yourself with those with Eve online connections or alts. Its too early to tell if thats a genuine advantage at the moment. |

Really depends on a few things. If you want to do corp battles you're going to want a decent size clan with support in eve online. This doesn't mean you'll have to join an existing clan just something to think about. Now if you just want to play and shoot things you can just group up into squads and do pick up games but those can be a mixed bag.
You also could start a small corp of just you and your clanmates from BF3 and merc your self out to other corps. |

I would say if you have a dedicated clan, make your own. You can ally with other corps, and hang out in other channels. |

Also what exactly does it take to start a corp other than ISK? Is there a long process to set it up or just picking a name? |

you'd have to have to necessary SP points and ISK to invest in the skills needed to start a corporation. so you can't really MAKE a corp just like that, you gota learn the skill from the skillbooks, and at first you can have only 20 members but you can upgrade that skill with SP points to increase the amount of members, think maximum is 200 members |

If you guys have an existing functional community run with that.
As a group your crew will be able to figure out Dust's ways. The corp management stuff is not rocket surgery as well. It will mean your CEO has to train up some corp management skills, but if you know what your expected numbers are it may not be big hassle.

One more question. If I started a corp would I be able to add others and put them in charge of the corp or whoever creates it runs it and is in charge? |

Thanks for the offer but we are gonna set up our own I was just wondering if there is a way to let more than the creator run the Corp. Kind of like Battlefield and their server admins. |

You can give people the Director role on EVE side. Not sure if it will work Dust side though. |

Another off topic question. Do you have to pay for the comms in order to talk to your squad members in the game or is there an option I am missing to get communication going? |

Join a small existing corp with the understanding that, because you are bringing an existing group over, it's reasonable for you to be a director to manage your players during the merger.
Then steal all their money and start your own corp. |

if you're new, i suggest allying with another corp so they can teach y'all the basics, no where near the same as BF3 |
