Only played for a short while so far in the open beta, but I have been using the Move controller. I play quite a bit of KillZone 3, using just the move controller, not the gun accessory. In KZ the move controller feels effortless, it feels like your gun and immerses you into the game.
Dust not so much. The first issue is just cosmetic, in that when you move the cursor around the screen before you hit your dead zones, your gun doesn't move. So when you shoot, your bullets fire off in a different direction to which your gun is facing. Not a massive issue, just weird.
The biggest problem is that when you scope in, your gun doesn't follow your cursor, but the zoomed in gun image still takes up half the screen. So you look down the sights, then move your crosshair down slightly to aim, but you cant see what you are aiming at as the gun sights are in the way. They will only move out of the way once you look down far enough to hit the edge of the dead zone, but by then you are way off target. One thing I have not tried is to set the dead zone to nearly 0, but I am pretty sure that would make it too sensitive and unplayable.
TL;DR
Killzone nailed move controls, if you have the time, please mercilessly copy what they did.

Also the gun not moving with the aim actually presents a real problem since many guns when aiming take up a fair amount of the screen, the basic SMG takes about 40% on height and 30% width of the screen (worst I've found so far) when in "aim mode" and by not moving with where I look it blocks me from aiming on about 1/6 of the screen (apart from looking very odd) >_<
Dead zone and turning speeds based on how much you turn the move controller also needs work, turning is way to uniformed and slow no matter how much you set sensitivity and minimize the dead zone, it needs to scale based on how far outside the dead zone you are (a max turn speed border setup would be nice as well but not the most important of fixes).
Another issue I found is the key-mapping, while not life and death it would be nice with a reload button on the Move layout but you can always use the default I guess, it no button you could use a move gesture like move controller outside "game window".
Just a thought but the Move button should really be crouch or possible jump as these two are more active things you need in combat then weapon switch and O should be granade so you can use L2 as the crouch/jump or drop menu button.
Really high hopes that you get the move controls in Dust to work as good as they do in KZ3, they are a blast to use and Dust really is building up to be a great game :) |

I like using the move with Dust but I do agree with all the aforementioned issues plus I'd like to add a couple.
1. The reticle moves by itself when you hold the move stationary (ex: when in the lobby, aim at the head of the character outline in the load out area, keep the reticle aimed for the head, rest your hand/move on a table, the reticle bounces and swerves like your drunk)
2. The melee and squad order controls are terrible, just about useless
3. The sensitivity option in the menu is not accurate enough, it effects turn speed greatly when all I really want to do is calm my reticle down, turn speed shouldn't be affected.
Hopefully CCP is reading these things! |

Right behind this! Been playing KZ3 a lot recently with the move and I've been loving it, it's so fun.
