So when CCP announced this would be a free to play game and wont be pay to win and at this point i was very skeptical.
But as i wanted to support CCP and as i have a full time job i wanted the skill boosters so i bought a Merc pack.
I currently use 2 chars my main which is in a dust corp and an alt that is in a not very active corp full of casual eve players and RL friends
So on my main (in the Dust corp) i applied all the items from my merc pack and used aurum for suits and weapons as well as buying the passive boosters
And on my alt i have just used isk to buy all my suits and guns (not even militia BPOS)
So i consider myself an average FPS player can hold my own but no where amazing
so on my "pay to win" main i have a K/D ratio of 1.28 and on my isk alt its at 1.26
I know this game isnt about K/D and more about WPs but this is obsolete as i have played a lot more on my main
also as a note i have taken very similar routes on both chars
Just thought i would post this to any doubters claiming P2W because with all that extra aurum stuff I haven't seen any better results |

So you're implying that this game is P2W just because you used Aurum to unlock better stuff slightly faster? Even if it made a difference, the best things you can buy with Aurum quickly get obsolete when you actually start spending ISK on the better suits, weapons, modules etc.
I don't see your logic here, and no, this game isn't P2W |

Its not P2W. Now if you could buy Skills... or somehow transfer AU to SP instantly without worrying about caps. Then yes it would definitely be P2W.
But most of the armor is just cosmetic or slightly better, and there isnt much to buy thats permanent and worthwhile right now anyways. |

You're title must have lead to the reactions, because I read your post and understood it to be affirming the game isn't pay to win. |

Can't say I notice myself. I haven't spent a penny and seem to hold my own alright... If you have the patience to skill up properly you don't really need to pay for items that are only one skill level better anyway

Too many people not reading the OP nowadays... *Sigh*
It seems to me that you've shown that CCP successfully reached its goal not to turn this game into a P2W. Which I never doubted they would. |
