this thread is about the railgun installations one of the three turrets that are 'deployed' from the war barge(at least I think that's where they come from)
the unmanned railgun turrets are god like accurate and move faster then we can aim them should we take control of them I've been killed by these things in ways that make my jaw drop i'm talking mid air kills or turning around a corner.
in addition these things are lavbane was in a game the other day and once that thing got a lock on me it was game over couldn't even get out of it's los because the thing hit hard, fast, repeatedly, made me lose control of the vehicle, and missed not a single shot this is coming from someone whose lav has over 2,000 shields four shots all on target and I was finished what frustrates me is that I was not 20 meters away from a safe zone but couldn't get to it because of how hard the damn things hit threw me off course.
and before anyone says it I confirmed that the railgun was unmanned.
anyway if anyone has any comments ideas or experience post below my fellow dusters! |

I have come across the same problems as you. AI rail Turrets are 100% accurate and never overheat. |

They definitely overheat, but they track ridiculously quickly when nobody is in them. Try shooting any red unmanned turret installation from in a vehicle- the turret turns to face you extremely quickly. |

This is why , I don't hack them I blow the bajesus out of them with my forge gun . I'd rather be safe in the knowledge that they are gone and not worry about them being recaptured and blowing the crap out of me . And when I say don't hack them that counts for the neutral turrets too . The way I see it is any turret is a potential battlefield threat . So take them out ...............all of them muhahahaha . |

As a driver, I thank you. I even set up a militia forge fit to do this myself. |

how about a fitting for vehicles is put in that scrambles the targeting of the turrets ? and the accuracy of the rails is reduced to 1 out of every 3 hits |

There are several types of Large Rail Gun Turrets and one big difference is tracking speed. Some come equipped with slow Turrets and others use faster tracking versions.
It is infuriating that the turret will turn instantly unless an operator is using the turret.
Also, even the slow turrets will instantly return to the wrong position if you back out of the turret then re-enter soon. Doing it immediately will not always produce the result. Any sort of delay, shooting a Red for instance, will and the slow piece of Kitten Breath will be back in its default position.
I thought I would share the experience from a HAV standpoint. LRG are wicked fast and 100% accurate. That said, they have limitation that apply to the Large Blaster Turrets as well. Get behind cover but trigger their attention and they will fire until the weapon overheats. They always do it. That gives you ~10 seconds while the cooling cycle functions. Peek out, pop the turret with your LRG.
Or just get to where you can barely see them. Like everything in Video Game Land hitting the corner of something is just as effective as shooting it dead center. Pop the turret.
Popping turret with a Blaster HAV is left as an exercise for the reader.
The last is Situational Awareness. You Must be aware of the location of every LRG at All Times. As most can be Hacked the once safe route can become a Death Trap. The same is true for the Blaster versions but they a much shorter range.
Remember, All Turret have a 50% aggro range. If you get in that range it Will target you. If you aggro it will track you to 100%. Unless someone else get the aggro then it will forget you.

It's crazy how AI controlled railgun turrets can turn just as fast as blaster turrets. |
