Hi, so I have watched the newest trailer and noticed the part where a dropship is sending down 2 beams of energy to repair 2 tanks.
I have never seen this before in battle so I went to the marketplace to find if there was a module for such a thing; I found Remote Repair Systems, if I recall correctly.
So the question is, does this actually work? To repair other vehicles with a vehicle-mounted repair gun? And if so, is it efficient?
I was thinking of eventually getting a LAV fitted with the repair systems so that I could cover HAVs and what not. |

Sure, before the reset it wasn't super rare to see people run logi LAVs repping tanks and such. Dunno how much use they are as I haven't used them myself but a rep is a rep and it forces the enemy to concentrate more firepower on the HAV to take it our or first deal with the logi. |

I tried it in replication or whatever the build after it was (whenever it was that HAVs got a massive buff)- it's extremely difficult, clunky, and dangerous to attempt targeting a ground unit with a dropship repair beam.
In order to get into range, you have to practically land on the HAV; in order to get the targeting reticle over the HAV, you have to point the nose at the dropship while waiting for the lock to register. Even then, you have to hold it like that to send more pulses. In the time it takes to do that, you'll either have crashed directly into the ground, or gotten shot down by an AVer.
Perhaps landing and using the dropship as a mobile supply depot (as in, they repair nearby vehicles) would be a better strategy than repairing in the air. Even so, an LAV would be better at that. |

The BuddyJeep or Buddy LAV is great imo, a rack of remote repair or shield transporters can drastically increase the survivability of your buddy tank, especially when you are on coms, imo |

Yep, Hey Grease, another thing I tried with a group I've joined now is sort of a spider tank tank. WHere 2 sicas each have heavy shield transporters and start targeting each other when you start to come under fire. Fairly effective, they have better cooldown than other stuff. |

Spider tanking tanks would be awesome. If we ever get armor/shield hardeners, you could have a fairly effective pantheon setup with HAVs. Whichever one is taking fire would get reps from all the others, much like pantheon carriers in EVE. |

there are hardeners already, just not cost effective on militia HAVs atm |
