Before the game starts, while waiting to deploy, press select to find out who is squad leader. If you are it, then an orbital might be available to you. You can frago things on the start menu in-game map, or by pressing R2 and pushing down on the R3 stick. You may want to start with map fragos. Anyway, most people frago green members of their squad for extra points. When your squad reaches around 2500 war points, you get an orbital strike capability, which will notify you in blue letters in the top right corner. It's easy to miss this notification, so as the game starts to wind down check manually to see if you have one.
Once you have one, this is how to do it.
Press the right button on the D-pad. Select Off Map support/ orbital strike. Then target where you want it to rain down on your map.
There is nothing more frustrating that knowing your squad leader didn't use his strike, other than being new to the game, getting an orbital but not knowing how to use it yourself, which happened to me when I first started.
So bomb away. |

This needs to be shoved down everyones throats.
Not sure if you already mentioned it, but it's very very easy to miss the notification that you have an orbital ready, so try to get into the habit of checking if things are quiet, but not if they're too quiet |

Noooo! You're giving out trade secrets Vermaak!!!
Lol. Seriously why isn't there a tutorial or something? Those annoying things pop up for everything but we can't get a box or something when we have downtime in the game, i.e. the menu/map is on screen.
Same with the markers. Players should get a tutorial on that RIGHT when they hop in. Or...better yet. Put this info down on the load screen. |

I always miss the OB notifications, so now I have gotten in the habit of checking my off-map support towards the end of the match (if I am squad leader). This is never a problem when running a squad where we all have mics, because somebody usually see's it and tells the SL. But going solo I always miss it.
There should definitely be some kind of audio chime to let you know, as well as a more obvious text notification (like it was pre-Chromosome, big orange/red lettering right in the middle of your screen). |

So question... You don't have to have an Eve pilot in orbit and link up with them to use the orbital strike?? |

I posted an idea for an ui element that would fill up as a squad got enough points to get an orbital. This could be a good visual que that something is ready to be used. https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=541090 |

no for the precision OB you don't all you need is to be squad leader and have your 2500 points (made by your squad)
I understand there are other kinds of strikes that require an eve pilot but I have no Idea how they are used or if you even can yet. |
