A bit far off, and so maybe I should have this in General Discussion, but here's a thought: http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Hot_dropping
Not a very accurate method of transportation, but widely accepted and favored. A gameplay style could involve protecting the landing point, or even cargo itself if it's already dropped down, and everyone goes to retrieve it. Enemy troops would come from a competitor trying to get their hands on the cargo. We have the animations from the installations falling to show the cargo, and this could be a nice way to help out in the Planetary Interaction side of New Eden. It'll be easier and more fun for EVE Online players, and I know I'll enjoy playing this game style!
It's not perfect - no one is willing to lose some cargo just because of the dust bunnies, but I feel this could be an interesting approach to expanding EVE and DUST interaction. Thoughts anybody? |

Ummmm....it doesn't mean what you think it does. It refers to the practice of using a heavily tanked ship with cyno fiited as bait. Then luring the enemy to attack. What happens is either a fleet is in wait to get bridged in on top of the enemy or, the enemy gets a titan or some carriers bounced on their heads.
Edit: Should have read that. Was not aware that version was even in the eve wiki. It sounds good though, maybe even drop in clone bodies. |

Ah yes, I knew I've heard of the term 'Hot Dropping' before but yeah, a bit confusing as we're working with the same names, but it's quite different. I'm definitely interested in having an alternative name; Sky Drop, or something akin to that to lessen confusion. |
