I'd delete mine if I could.
edit: Though, actually I apparently didn't pay clear enough attention to the post on it as this is cheaper than I was thinking. I seem to recall seeing lots of 19800, but I suppose it was skim, 9800-9800-9800...and to the bottom.. 19800, then evaluate from there.
But regardless, I fully understand they are unlimited use items, but they also started out as free unlimited items, and they are rather poor ones at that. The Militia fits are barely functional and have rather bad fitting capabilities. Any type 1 suit and fit will dominate one with ease.
Also, they don't actually have a great variety of modules, so you are stuck with standard items for any 'good' fit either way. All I cam away from this with, (aside from a share of anger), is that they are not particularly worth the investment. They will not substitute long term, and they are cheap enough individually to make it foolish to invest in them with AUR at these prices.
Better to drop it on that Raven Suit, which I actually meant to do, but bought the Primordial instead, when I did. I have a Skinweave Assault which looks as good and works equally well. The Raven is marginally better ofc.
tl;dr: They are cheap and they should be cheap. |

Do recall the starter fits are free and unlimited, and then consider they only include the Militia Dropsuit you cam with. This doesn't leave much room for trying other Dropsuits and fits aside from buying them individually or spending the AUR to aquire the BPOs.
This isn't a huge deal, but it does impact the game in some small fashion, and more importantly, it suggests that any further additions of this sort will be beyond prohibitively expensive. If a Raven Suit, (or equivalent Logi or Scout), BPO costs ~$10, then what of other items that are better, or come to complement that?
Type I or Class I items are not exactly cheap, and I for one cannot afford to stock them for battles where I expect to see losses. This particularly covers ambush, where you can be spawn killed 9 times out of 10 on occasion, but also extends to Skirmish when you are facing an organized team and have none of your own.
Generally, I lose ISK per Battle if I buy these items and use them. I can quite honestly say that I'm fairly certain I've had as many as 30 losses in one battle. Using a Starter fit is one alternative, but it doesn't leave much room for experimentation. Militia BPOs are the other alternative, and though poor in fitting, they do allow a little experimentation.
The last option is just buying, using, and losing Militia gear. This is fine as an alternative when compared to the loss of 'real' fits and the AUR cost of BPOs at the new prices. At least you can earn ISK, while suffering a greater K/D loss ratio unfortunately, if not much greater ime, doing this.
I was fine with paying the AUR for the alternate Militia Dropsuit, or somewhat more for a type I, then fitting it with militia items and maybe the odd Type I item as a way of compensating. The Militia BPOs simply made this easier and were readily available at the old AUR cost. Some might say to available, and I wouldn't entirely disagree with them.
As it is, if we can expect these changes to stick, I'd just as soon even things out and have all non-skill-associated purchases reimbursed and the items removed. |
