Got this lovely message tonight when logging on for the second time today. And wont do anything past character selection. I have already use "search function" and read through several threads. i tried the delete saved data utility and no such luck. i also have filed the correct information with [email protected]. What i need to know from the community is will i lose my character and character progression if i do the uninstall and re-install. |

David, if you re-install, as long as you log in with the same PSN ID, even on a new PS3, you have nothing to fear. Only local settings such as controller layout, volume settings and such may get lost when you re-install. Characters and progression is all stored on our servers. The problem you report has been logged as well and we're looking into it. |

I've noticed this happens if you've received a couple patches or don't quit the game properly a few too many times. My old game data was a little under 9GB (each patch only adds to your existing data and doesn't remove the old) and a clean install is only 2.7GB. Started receiving texture errors, connection errors, and a few other minor problems. Re-loaded the game and had the same error, hence the clean install. |

I got the same error message a couple nights ago...
quit game, relogged, no more issues...
didnt uninstall or any of that noise, didnt even reboot PS3 and had no more issues...
however I got this message while in game |

Thank you for the quick reply Draco. I was extremely nervous about losing everything not just my character and his progress but my love for the game as well. This game is way ahead of the industry curve and want this game to succeed more then any other game i have played. Thanks again for the help Draco and the community! Good luck CCP |

I just got the exact same message. I was scared it might have corrupted other data on my PS3. After the automatic reboot and system scan I've reopened the game and have made it into the lobby so it seems okay for now. I didn't uninstall. |

We've found that if there's a problem with the internet connection during the data update, it can in some cases be shown as a data corruption error rather than a connection error. If you think your internet connection is not 100%, please try logging in again once or twice before resorting to a re-install. It should save you some time in most cases. |

Most likely after this issue you will get psn error code 8071053d. Before you uninstall turn off your ps3, unplug the modem and reset it. Turn everything back on and you may be fine. |
