Screw that, how about some totally new game modes?!
Wouldn't mind a little Rush-esque style play where defenders have to prevent installations from being captured/destroyed or maybe like a mix of a couple different modes put together like Warzone in Killzone 3...best objective mode ever!! |

Man that mode brings back memories.... I Started Dust around that time and loved it instantly. Man looking back Now, it's amazing how Far we came since then.
None of this would be possible without the feedback in the forums. |

It's just a matter of time before they bring it back with more game modes. Remember everyone, we're still in beta. It's a lot more important to find a good balance with weapons and dropsuits then try to work out the bugs of whole new game modes |

i think they were called assault maps, but yeah. I remember pushing through the whole first portion of the map as a scout using shotgun swarm to take out the AA and players alike then swapping out to a heavy dropsuite and HMG and pushing into the 3 point communications map. Which was far more intense then it currently is because you had to defend the point after ninja capping, due to the fact people could spawn in after the hack until you had full control of the point. |

It was SKIRMISH people, not "cpnquest", and not "assault". They changed supposedly because of balance issues, but I want it back (or something similar) as a new move. The game needs a multi-stage attack/defend mode. |

This
It was the original Skirmish mode on Crater Lake and IMO the best map of any beta build.
Assault maps came later and we haven't seen a Conquest map yet. |

Full agreement. That mode, which I've been referring to as Old Skirmish, was one of the best ideas CCP had back then - but it got scrapped instead of being tweaked to make it a tiny bit fairer - specifically, about the MCC retreating. What I mean is, Old Skirmish was the best mode of DUST, but it wasn't perfect. To play it again, we must rebuild it. But I feel we have the technology. Here is my attempt.
Defender Objective: If the attacker MCC is to continue to be the defender objective in the reborn mode, then it needs to be killed completely to win the match for defenders - it cannot retreat unless it wins.
Defense Relay section: the DRs should act like ballistic control units do in EVE. While they are online, the boost the damage output of the NULL cannons significantly, causing the MCC to blow up sooner the longer the attackers dawdle.
Main Base section: In this stage, I only need one change: the MCC cannot dock if any NULL cannons are shooting. Attackers have to have all three offline after it's reached the docking point.
Clones: Does not need changes. Whoever runs out of clones, loses.
In short, I only made three changes, which made the results as such. >Defenders win if the MCC blows up. Make up any excuse you want to prevent the MCC from retreating. >First stage simply affects how quickly the MCC dies from further fire. Take longer here, and the MCC dies in fewer hits. >Attackers can still win, but they have to hold the final points more of the time if they dawdle. >Defenders can still win, as long as they hold at least one point to the last clone. Obviously a tall order if it has gotten that far - but rightly so. >Anybody can win by draining all of the other side's clones. However, you get more ISK for killing the MCC as defender, or docking as an attacker. |
