CreoDron, Ishukone, Duvolle. Y'know, the people who were making spaceships. Is there a lore reason behind this, or is CCP just using old companies everyone is familiar with?
I'm not happy that the players that used to dominate the Capsuleer market are also making bucks of Mercenaries. I like the sense of competition in New Eden. If they're going to make spaceships and guns at the same time, I might as well give them my own name as the jack of all trades! |

They are industrial megacorporations that span the empires. They make everything from toasters to battleships.

What's the issue? In a direct parallel, Samsung makes this and this and even this. Other chaebol and conglomerates have similarly wide range of products. |

Those are npc corps in dust that where the first to desgin their respect factions T2 ships.
They would also resepcetfully make other items for their faction. Each faction . Amarr min caldari gall. Has 2 reaserach and manfacture npc corps that desgin the races scietifc advancesments
They have nothing to do with pod pilots. Or making money at all its all just lore on where the desgins came from
Think of the as racial galatic manfatureing companies that have many sub-sectors of building
