I run the soon to be released Immortal Mercenary Press Newspaper online, and the first issue to aid in the open beta newcomers is to supply them with a good set of tutorials in a condensed area. I know these forums do that, but it can be a little hard to sift through information sometimes. So either 1 i am looking for people to write for this online newspaper (releasing Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest) or 2 if you have already made a guide if you would allow me to repost it on my newspaper (for which i will give all due credit).
If 1 then you can send the story to [email protected] and it would be nice if you told me on the forum also, or if 2 just post a link to your guide on the forum and say its ok to use it.

I dig this idea. I can certainly say I'm in need of guidance and after hyping up Dust to my friends on campus who share my desire for a deeper experience than other shooters on the market can provide. That said, many of them will also need a fair bit of guidance.

I currently have a one giant overview tutorial on just the basics on how eerything works, however such things as maybe an introduction into the EVE world, i saw a couple of good ones here on that, or Which suit is best for you guide, or just small tips and tricks, some fitting options, whats the best way to use your first sp? these are all good topics which i dont neccisarily want to write all myself if i don't have to. And i know some good guides around here. |

Unless you're going to create a sort of newspaper for personal experiences, I don't really see far you could go with a newspaper considering anything CCP does will be reported from much more well known sources.
If you stick to guides it becomes more of a compilation of tutorials and a 'school' .
But perhaps I am mistaken. If the newspaper thrives ill be happy to eat my words. |

Will the newspaper be on DUST forums only, or on a separate website?
If it is on a separate website, what percentage of advertising revenue will the writers receive? Will they be compensated in some other way? |

Yes it is a newspaper for personal experiences, not actual news like "new patch next tuesday and talk on release of next expansion here" it will be more like a community newspaper, Yes it will be on a seperate website, and as of now its on a help out if you want to, there is no pay or anything, you can gain a reputation, be known in the community, get your corp name out. Also only this first issue is dedicated towards tutorials, later ones will not be.
Things that will be covered are like reportings of battles, what the current scene is, whos going to do what. heck we could have a foreign policy analyst on inter corporation relations seeing who can see what war coming first. Stuff like that, not news like ccp puts out.

A good example of what would be primary for us would be something like this. Now take it lightly as its a joke

This newspaper idea of your Vic has a lot of potential. Both good and bad. Anyway a good post for your news paper i think would be my How To: Use a Triage Kit/ Nanite Injector post found here in the training ground, i've tried to link it to this post but it doesn't seem to be working. I'm constantly teaching newer players how to use their Nanite Injectors so i think having that post viewed by a much wider audience would be great.
As for the rest of the newspaper i think it would be very interesting to see where it goes and i would be interested in being a part of it until such time I feel otherwise if that's alright with you.
