So, I've been playing around with a few ideas and wanted to check to see what the wise members of the the dust community thought before I invest too much time into it.
The idea behind this is to be able to get behind enemy lines, lay down cover fire where needed with a burst AR, and ninja knife snipers/reds taking objectives. Emphasis is being placed on speed more so than stamina to quickly grab cover. Since this is a more stealth and speed oriented build, I'll be using a scout suit and paying the price for it by making myself very, very squishy.
Down the road I'll be focusing on light weapon sharpshooter and reload once I can get the most out of my dampeners since my sidearm is a melee weapon. I'm not sure where to go with equipment and grenades, though. Being a bit quicker, I first thought about using a drop uplink. For the grenades, I want to say flux...
What do you seasoned dust bunnies say? What would you change? I'm all ears... erm. Eyes. |

Using profile dampeners and the relevant skill on a scout suit is not a bad idea at all. Knives are a bit meh, prolly better off with a main weapon + smg/pistol to be honest.
If you want to cover objectives you can also make excellent use of remote explosives :) good luck to your testing. |

Thanks, Musta! Remote explosives do sound fun, my primary objective will be to move across the field faster than my team mates and use the drop uplinks to get the rest of them across the field and attempt to "herd" them to relevant areas. It seems like effective use of this equipment can really turn the tide of battle. Don't get me wrong, I'll certainly play around with it. :)
Me: "Oh, someone's hacking objective bravo?"

Yeah. I can see how that'd be fun. lol I certainly thought about using a logi suit with a bunch of explosives strapped to me, but I'd hate to lose my speed. Demologi... Is that a thing? lol. I think I'll do that next.
I like the knives save for the noise they make. That's mainly there to switch to when I sprint and for fun kills when hacking CRUs or sniper hunting which is incredibly easy apparently. If that doesn't work, the initial knife hit takes a good chunk out of their health and I can switch to my AR. I'm really loving the burst variant. :D
I'm not a big fan of the pistol. I use an SMG with my sniper. Makes a good last resort and I usually survive 1 on 1 CQC when no one else is able to get to it. Barely. I'll try running with the SMG and see how I like it.
I'll do a little digging around the forums and see what I can find on effective drop uplink use, try it out, and potentially switch to remote explosives. :D |

I've had success as a sneaky assault.
Level hacking and dropsuit command. Stay off the Rader.
Locus grenades for when things get sticky, and spawn droplinks for coming back to life near a objective if you're found out. |

If you can spare losing your sidearm, you can get a Type-II(or the B-Series if you can afford it) scout suit. With the added equipment slot, you could run with remote explosives and a drop uplink, making for an excellent combination especially when defending objectives. Added with a profile dampener and a kinetic catalyzer(or the equivalent module for increasing sprint speed). I usually run with a shotgun while using the Type-II, which is excellent for close quarters combat. A burst assault rifle works aswell, but a shotgun would use the scout's speed for it's advantage. Getting a shield extender could also compensate for the lower shields, and give you an extra bit of armor than the normal type-I scout suit.
And as for grenades, the basic locus grenades work fine for me, especially with the two second timer making it fairly similar to a fused grenade. |
