Several recent threads have caused me to become concerned with the fact that some people do not want or cannot accept criticism from follow beta testers.
The few topics that emerged during this week were heavily disputed upon by an author and other people, and mostly a suggestion or complaint was met with disagreement. Of course, some replies may have been too harsh, but usually they were constructive and provided valid counter-arguments, providing good criticism of an OP. And what did those authors do? They refused to accept the criticism and started to insult, threaten, and enforce their opinion on people who disagreed.
What saddens me here is the fact that there are people here who follow the mindset of Robespierre; they believe their opinion is paramount and is universal truth. At least, instead of killing those who don't agree, these authors call the people with opposing ideas kids/noobs/idiots/insert your insult here. This is not how life works, however. You are not always going to be agreed with! People need to learn and accept it, for the sake of this community. You only have the right to state your case and try to convince other people to agree with you, instead of accusing them of being inferior to you and your "truthful" opinion.
However, I am glad to see that there are only few such Maximillans, and others try to persuade them to abandon such harmful mindset.
TL;DR: I urge you to read the entire post so my points become clearer But, anyway, here it is: Some people do not want to accept criticism they meet when posting threads. Instead of forming supportive arguments and trying to debate in a civil way, they resort to insults and accusations. It is necessary for them to learn to tolerate criticism and react appropriately to it. |

Surely, I laugh at first... But them it becomes so sorrowful looking at OP's posts, just like in a certain thread that got locked recently.

1. Got used to them a long time ago. 2. Even following this mentality, I can't understand why OP posters seem to be surprised and greatly upset that someone disagrees/trolls them. 3. I'm fine with forums, thank you. 4. My point, actually. I've been to some forums, and there were ones where you could count the number of such behaving people by fingers on your hands. Here, however, I see that the count is too high, thus all the trolling. 5. I already saw it somewhere...

Yes, I see your point. But what is the reason for acting so impudently? You are not helping anyone by stumping your chest and yelling around every corner that you are the Prophet of Truth. I can not understand this kind of mentality.

This behavior is what I mock and ridicule in real life without mercy or remose. Pontification begets sarcasm, but not mockery. Pontification from a know-it-all stance where your opinion is absolute and no one else is allowed to argue? This is what I look for to have the most fun on these forums. People who can't take criticism or dissenting opinions get so ANGRY when you call em on their BS in a manner appropriate to their level of arrogance/idiocy multiplied by your level of apathy. The Goons and TEST have a spreadsheet on the equation I'm hinting at. Something about arrogance +QQ minus facts multiplied by carebear whine quotient and some other stuff tells you how bad people who pull this need to be trolled hard. oh and i think there's a sub-equation on Isk risked Vs. ISK lost niche protecction whines as well. I need to ask my buddy in the CFC to tell me how that works again.
I'm intrigued now. Could you post the entire equation here when you recall it?
I don't usually resort to trolling when seeing this type of behavior, but when a person is too ignorant to see beyond his or her ego, I can't refrain from giving them a cake filled with valid, in my opinion, counter-arguments and with sarcastic icing on top. However, once again, such thread can push the envelope too far, and when I see an author going into his/her personal life in an attempt to prove that the OP's oh-so-true argument is the most important one, I don't really want to post anything else there. What I honestly can't comprehend is why these people put themselves into the line of fire. |

Possibly even sadder if you believe your own nonsense. GetBetterGäó
I'm believe that this may not be right. I never intended to really troll anybody, and it was not in my desire to show that I am "holier" than everyone else. I apologize if it accidentally sounded like it, never meant to say so. And I'd be glad if you could pinpoint my "nonsense", so I could understand my mistakes, if there are any. |

the end result is the equation mathematically confirms that someone is too stupid/asinine to be allowed to live further. Most people don't need the equation to determine this.
It's just that I have a mathematical interest to see all components of the equation. The possibility of using calculations to extract emotional result seems very interesting to me, that's all. I don't really have a practical necessity to know it, but still, if you don't mind, please do post it. |

True, so true. But I am for constructive comments here, remember?
P.S. And it's not like I actually care, it's just interesting to listen what exactly is "nonsensical". |
