I searched the forums ( for about a minute) and was trying to figure out if you activate a passive booster on an alt toon, do you receive normal passive SP as well as receiving your normal passive on your main |

A 50% boost to zero is somewhat less than normal passive SP. |

Surely it should at least activate your passive SP?
Why has this not been mentioned before? |

You're pretty smart for someone who made this terrible thread.
And why should it surely activate your passive SP? You can only have passive SP being earned by a single character. What does a booster have to do with that? |

Passive skill gain on alt (passive booster on alt) is 7.1 sec/SP. |

Only one toon on an account can have the "passive SP" accumulation. (Which you can change at the toon selection menu.) If your main is selected with the "passive SP" accumulation the passive booster on the alt on the same account as your main will not collect any "passive SP" but your main will collect the base level passive SP without booster. If you then select your alt with the booster for "passive SP" then your alt will get the normal "passive SP" plus the extra from the booster.
That is my understanding of the "passive SP". |

Negative.
Main is decided by which character you have the natural passive booster (selectable booster at character select menu) activated on.
Here I'll simplify it as best I can for you:
Character selection:
Character #1. natural passive booster active: SP = 1/3.6 sec
Character #2. No booster: SP/sec = 0
Character #3. No booster: SP/sec = 0
Character #1. No booster: SP/sec = 0
Character #2. natural passive booster active: SP = 1/3.6 sec
Character #3. No booster: SP/sec = 0
Character #1. No booster: SP/sec = 0
Character #2. No booster: SP/sec = 0
Character #3. natural passive booster active: SP = 1/3.6 sec
Now, If you aply a purchased passive booster to an alt (character that is earning 0 SP) that character will then begin to accrue SP at a rate of 1/7.1 sec.
further if you aply a purchased passive booster to a main, the main will then proceed to gain SP at a rate of 1/2.3 sec
This has all been tested. It is not debatable. Unless there have been changes that I am unaware of in the last two weeks. |

Damn, valuable to know, Ignoble Son. I apologize to the OP for being snarky, I stupidly assumed that the way the game appeared to work was the way it actually worked. I should have known better. |

Yaup. Going right back to the earlier thread justa few posts below this one, OP ;) https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=51267&p=3
Some confusion MAY come using the term natural passive booster, for those assuming you're talking about the AUR booster. Other than that, I'm glad the numbers are out, and agree. Confirmed here, looking at my alt's SP slowly climbing with nothing but the AUR 7-day passive booster doo-hickey.
