The Imperfects are hosting an open tournament to celebrate launch of open beta!
Details will be forthcoming shortly through updates here. Basic format is double elimination.
Basics: Max team size 12 members (any mix of dusters and pilots). Next Tuesday through Friday will be free-for-all seed matches. Non-mandatory; unranked teams will receive a random seed. Saturday will be the preliminary rounds during the weekly OB event. All final rounds will be Sunday - there will be referees taking slots in the finals and observing from orbit so plan your teams accordingly.
Buy-in: 10M, due 4 hours before the first match. You will need to have a designated "bagman" DUST alt with the ISK join "Nova Knife ISK Holding" Corp, run by Nova Knife's alt "Clone Reanimation Unit".
Prizes: 40% to first place, 20% to second place, 10% to third place, the remainder is going to be split among various bonus prizes (example Best KDR or Most Kills).
Best of luck! As hosts, no team captain will be an imperfect. Team captains must have director access of any corp. Due to DUST mechanics there cannot be two captains from the same corp, alt corps are encouraged to get around this restriction.

The teams:
Email your roster to [email protected]
Should include:
Team Name
Team Captain - Sponsor Corp (must be duster)
Team Member A
Team Member B
etc.
Bagman (must be duster)
The team limit is 12, and orbital support is allowed, but must come from a pilot on the roster. Only members on the roster are allowed in the match at ANY time or it is an automatic loss; otherwise players are free to drop in and out as they choose. Captains must have director access in a corp and there can only be one captain per corp. There can also be designated co-captains; co-captains are included in the one captain per corp rule. A captain must be present in every match (but not necessarily the whole match) or it is recorded a loss. This is a limitation of the corp battle system only, you are representing yourself as teams of mercs, NOT corps. Non-captains can be in any corp, including NPCs. This is a mingling event to promote community building; teams composed of only one corp will be severely frowned upon and not eligible for bonus prizes.

The Tourney:
Round 1: Seeding Matches
Any corp battle fought between the 22nd and the 25th will earn points towards ranking used for seating. 1 point for wins, 2 points for losing to another registered team, 3 points for participating in a corp battle above 10M pot, 4 points for winning against another registered team, and 5 points for every 10 corp battles. To count for points, screenshots must be submitted in the designated location. Ties will be resolved randomly (especially important for those with 0 points).
Round 2: Preliminaries
On the 26th, starting at the same time as the OB testing event, teams will compete in a double elimination bracket. Entry will be locked 4 hours before the event, bracket will be posted 2 hours the first match. Higher seed will set up the contract at 250k ISK to complete by the end of the hour. Failure to set up contract correctly defaults a win to the defenders. Disputes will be handled by myself, attempts to game or interfere with the system will result in an automatic disqualification. Outside interference will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
Round 3: Finals
On the 27th, the finals will be set up by the referees and they will pull in members of both sides 3 at a time. Race will be selected by the attacker, location will be announced 15 minutes in advance. Teams have a choice between two refs and one, however with only one referee they will be unable to get additional players into the game after the match has begun. Referee's will also be cloaked in orbit to ensure orbitals are delivered by team members only, but otherwise no restrictions in orbit, including interfering fleets! The loser of the 0 loss bracket final will play the winner of the 1 loss bracket to determine 2nd and 3rd place.
There will be the opportunity to participate in quick "half-time" competitions, betting, and other surprises. Keep tuned in for more details soon. |

Chribba is not set up for DUST transactions yet. I can think of no one more trustworthy than Nova Knife. You are not obligated to participate, but I promise it will be fun. |

I'm not gonna have time personally, someone from my Corps welcome to step up and organise it, i've no issues fronting the cash as i'm sure it will be a laugh.
It's just more effort than i have time for right now, we're at war, i've got multiple EVE deployments in addition to trying to run this corp, a new job and a family. Your tournys the last thing on my mind right now. :P |

10M buy in kinda steep dont ya think? seeing as how most corp contracts arent even anywhere near that...........
not sure how i feel about the mixed teams thing as well tbh
kinda short notice to get ppl to start workin on stuff with whoever wants to team with us not even decent folks or just find ppl to begin with.
We can pay the buy-in just curious how many gonna drop 10M and ontop of it have to have their team mixed with another corp. |

10M is steep? Are we playing the same game?
This is supposed to be a casual mixer with accessibility to the new players coming in on the 22nd. There will be corp tourneys in the future but that is not the intention of this event. Any suggestions on how to improve the format is welcome. |

PFBHz will be down for this, Is this going to be full corp teams or are we mixing and matching different corps for this? If we are mixing and matching I would say take a max of 4 dust guys from each corp. Maybe set up an event chat channel and see who would want to play and maybe pick teams that way. Or get a list of captains and go draft style might be intresting |
