I have had this problem where the above message pop up on the notification tab as soon as i log in to my MQ the mic icon had a red cross over it and i can't speak or hear anyone on comms. This problem started in codex build 3 weeks after the testers tournament ended to be exact, i was hoping it is a bug and it will be fixed with new build (chromosome) but no i still have it till today i tried everything to fix it but nothing works, such as: - start a new character - turned voice chat option OFF then ON again - made sure Push to Talk is OFF - putting my PS3 on DMZ - deleting and re-installing the client - Rebuilding my PS3 database and system files
Some says its a router problem but i haven't touch my router (Netgear DGND3700) settings for ages i joined the beta in Replica and haven't had any issues with comms until 3 weeks after the tourny ended so my router doesn't have anything to do with it though i have the latest firmware on it.
What annoy me is that i can't pinpoint where the problem lays i mean: - I can't blame my character because i tried creating a new one - I can't blame my mic because its working just fine in other games - I can't blame my PS3 because my brother's PS3 has the exact same problem with DUST comms - I can't blame codex build because comms were working up until the tourny ended - I can't blame my router because i played the beta since April and i hadn't have any problems with comms
I already stopped playing DUST month ago and am not going back until this problem is fixed i don't want to play a teambased game like a deaf person nor they can hear me I am really sad am forced to stop playing this game with my corp mates and mad i spent money on a game i won't be able to play.
I hope someone from CCP care enough to look into this because i sent email to the support 6 days ago and i haven't got a response yet. |

I say this on all comms issues threads, there's no guarantee it'll work for you but I had some problems a very long time ago and this solved it.
Try changing the audio chat device settings in the PS3 for your headset ... mine was set to "use default device" so I changed it to to my specific headset for both input and output devices and it solved the problem.
Try changing yours between default and specific settings, see if it makes any difference.
Sorry if this doesn't help, but it's worth a try. |

if you have more than one mic device connected, try disconnecting all but the one you want to use.
i had an issue where my usb camera was set to "do not use" and when i turned on my PS3 headset it would not broadcast (i could hear others though). when i set my USB camera mic to be "in use" when the headset was off, that fixed my headset issue when i turned the headset back on. the headset issue was also fixed when i just disconnected the camera, that would be the easiest fix. |

I have experienced this problem the past couple of days. First I tried to reinstall Dust 514, but that didn't help. There seems to be a "voice server" issue.
When I have the "System - Connection to voice chat lost, reconnecting".. it doesn't take long before I get a message "internal error" and the Dust client have lost connection. Next step then is to reconnect to the Tranquility server again.
I disable the voice to be able to play, when I get this error. There has however been periods when I can activate voice, and it runs just fine for hours. Then all of a sudden, the voice chat will be lost again. |

I added the PS3 specific voice channel ports to my firewall. I have never seen the message since. |
