Here's how slow I am... I only Just found out that I was admitted into the beta via a curiosity with wanting in to the beta finally, and then searching my email to find out I was already confirmed two months ago.. o_O; I'm so slow. But better late than never, right?
Anyway, I've been playing for two days now and I must say: I'm greatly impressed and glad I finally have something else to play outside of Call of Duty to get my FPS fix. And I think this 'fix' is gonna go on for a long time now ;)
The game's very in-depth with everything you can customize to your character, and leaves enough free so that you really don't have to fork over a huge amount of money. But the amount there is to customize is overwhelming! I don't know about trying each and every class there is available, but I know that each class is heavily armed with all the weapons, "perks", armor and whatnot that will leave you at the Marketplace buying and upgrading everything you can to get that extra edge in battle. I don't believe anything's overpowered as of yet, with a deeper focus on skill rather than two shots for the kill. And also, my K/D ratio sucks, haha~
^So that above is my opinion of the game So Far. Here's what I think needs some work.
First off, there's lag. No, not lag so bad that people are skipping frames and killing you before they did you in (I had that once and still managed to get the kill). There's lag within controller input. Now I don't know if it's because for the past two nights my controller was wireless and there was some interference elsewhere. But when I throw grenades, I was hoping for a quick flick of one grenade into a quick flick of another. Nope. I get one grenade, wait a second or two, then frantically click for another. I don't know if this is intentional or not, but it does bug me a bit.
Also, spawn's very terrible, evident in Ambush play. I'm guessing "Ambush" is the keyword in this mode because whenever I spawn, hello! There's an enemy. Spray bullets before I get sprayed. It's a rather weird concept I'm...coming to terms with. Slowly, haha. But I'm now tending to wait a while for things to "settle" and then spawn in to battle. On that topic, there's also a bit of...'meh' with the transition for When you spawn. It basically fades in as you, I guess, awaken from slumber and gearing for battle. It's...new, to say the least. The whole game is new to me, and being CoD-"raised", I guess I've been spoiled to That side of the gaming industry, filled with repetitiveness and quick run-and-gun matches. I honestly wish my first game Was this or Battlefield or even Borderlands (found out how great a game That was just last year, months before BL2 was released). Then I'd probably bear minor things like being revived and getting back up, only to be shot down in only one second, or pushing this button while falling from a great height to cancel any damage from the fall. But...mainstream scarred me.
But anyhow, those are my...feedback...suggestions, I guess? I hate to have described two of them, because the thread I read said to avoid that at ALL costs, but...well, suspend me in that case, lol. I just thought I'd offer my two cents into the mix, months after the game's Closed Beta opening, but better now than to wish you did later, right? |
