So after bitching last night ive decided to take a more team worky approach to battle. Utilizing my tank as a moving cover and shoot **** platform twas working well(ish). Then i came to an enemy objective and sat there, two gunners in my tank. I shot the objective hinting them to get out and capture it. It was clear, no enemies, yet nothing. No movement, they sat there firing at the objective.
We were winning we had three other objectives, so it wasnt a big deal. However, why wouldnt you get out and capture the objective? It confuses me, id have done it myself, but last time i did that in a 300k soma my team mate ran off with it and got it blown up. While funny as hell, as i imagined a troll face flipping me the bird as he drove off, still a bummer. My tank is now into the 800k range, so no, i was not abandoning my tank.
So, please, if you find yourself in that situation, exit the tank, it will be there when you get back. |

Surprisingly, I've exited my tank with gunners in it to repair it and only one time did some one take the controls, but they immediately gave them back. Strange times of trust. |

Blue Berries are too hard to predict. We need to be able lock the vehicle. Once I had an RDV destroyed in route and the blue berry got in my LAV where it landed, drove it half way across the map and over to me and then handed me the controls. I was very impressed, but it only happened like that once. |

To all of the players who are reading this who like to stay in a tank, even when you are next to an objective with no enemies nearby: HACK THAT 'BLEEPING' THING!
The tank that you were riding in will be there when you come back, if that driver is smart enough to provide you with cover.
So hack away ladies and gentlemen, you'll be thankful that you did. :)
Note that I am speaking directly to the players who stay in gunner positions and what not, the tank DRIVERS can stay in their 800k to 1million isk death machine to provide cover. :D |

If I got an isk for every time a blueberry stole my ride then I would have more than a dang eve player, a lock system would be great or at least a way to destroy the vehicle as a way to dissuade blueberries from going around stealing someones car/tank/dropship when they are trying to use it for something |

I am not in a squad or a corp yet. Looking into a few and mostly because of being a Gunner.
Even just jumping in random i will get out and Rep the armor if it needs it and I am Logi at the time. I jump out and capture the objective. Often losing my seat. I have jumped out and gunned down the swarm launcher. I scan 360 from the top turret and suffer through missile turrets that cannot hit anything without divine intervention.
I will do Gunner until I start my own pilot (again) or give up on them ever delivering the pilot they claimed. Right now, any build wastes about half the SP for a pilot. And Sp is much too expensive to waste.
Then I will flip a coin and determine which char will be my pilot/driver. |

rather than that a lock that then requires those on your team to have to hack the vehicle like its an enemy vehicle. this way if you do truly abandon the tank as the owner it can be used or say you get out and die after locking the tank.... i think i might put up a suggestion thread and flesh out my idea further |

If its expensive dont call it in the middle of a warzone.. And especially not near the noobs. As far as forcing people from the vehicle we have tried to get this in place for dropships to actually make them worthwhile to which we have had no such luck.

My guess would be if you are winning already it makes sense to leave the letter as red then you can just sit there and pop reds as they spawn. |

As a logibro I rarely hop in a tank and spend much time in it. I just can't do my job while taking a ride. However, I've had about three different occasions where I hitched a ride to an objective and the driver actually waited while I hacked to cover me and let me get back in so we could move to the next and do it again.
Thank you blueberry tankers. Free repairs for you. |
