The more you QQ about it the less CCP will care!
But real talk: its here for a reason ladies and gents..it isent going anywere for awhile and the open beta is coming soon so quit complaing otherwise we will mistake you as a newbie also complaining...us closed beta testers gotta be the elders of this game so think about this before complaining
We got over 9000 threads regarding this so I think CCP already knows you guys hate it
Go outside! Read a book! Play something else! I have ADD yet I can wait for it to roll over so just quit alright? Its annoying to see a post about it every time I'm on the fourms |

Doesn't matter what, people won't be happy. There isn't a real way to fix this.
Weekly SP cap: Casual gamers - Great! I don't have to play everyday! Hardcore gamers: I hit the cap in 2-3 days, WTF?
Daily SP cap: Casual gamers - I can't afford to play everyday, and now I'm behind everyone else. Hardcore gamers: I hit the cap in 5-6 games! WTF?

Best idea I've seen so far has been a weekly cap with a pool. This way if you don't reach the cap during the week, the remaining SP will pool over into the week after.
In this plan noone is left behind if you put in the time.

Yeah that's a really good idea, CCP's had plenty of time to implement it, don't know why they haven't.
Some days I just don't feel like playing DUST and if blue dots annoy me enough then I ragequit. I would still call myself a hardcore player (I still play 5-7 days a week for 3 hours at -least-), but I don't really like being forced into playing every day to keep up with everyone else. |

agreed. I have the time right now to play daily, but that can change at any time. in my experience, games that REQUIRE you to play EVERY day are doomed from the start.. people lose interest aside from the hardcore gamers over time.
the ability to not log on and not worry about falling behind the masses is a pretty crucial aspect that I can only hope CCP realizes before the influx of new players... most of which are just 'trying out' the game and the first few days will either hook them or they will bail...
the current SP cap will undoubtedly cause more to bail than to stay IMO |

Right now you only have 2 options
Option 1: Deal with it
Option 2: Pick the best idea about the SP cap and how it should be changed and get as many players behind it as possible and try to force CCP to change there mind (Disclaimer: it still may not work but at least you tried) |

Exactamudo!
Simple solution. no cap! Then, like everything else in this world you're rewards reflect for your participation and dedication, no more, no less. Take the army for example, how do people become navy seals or SAS? They work for it, hard. None of this "but I can only get involved once a week BS but I want the same rewards as everyone ****".
I saw one post a short while back with this guy saying the SP cap was brilliant because he was only able to play once a week or biweekly because he had a kid. Well, here's an alternative to your SP cap, take a lesson in contraception and make the choice about what you really want in life and stop ******* up my game! |

I was thinking about this the other day and it seems a lot like EVE's system - you have to put in a lot of time and real effort to be good, you can't just jump into Dust and expect to be kicking five tons of crap all over the maps. There are some skills that take weeks to finish in EVE and you can't really advance with your skill plans until they're finished.
But I do agree that sometimes finishing a battle with a small amount of SP, even if you worked hard, can make you feel very unrewarded, it still works out good for the game and the players in the long run.
If you're worried about keeping up with everyone else, you've only one other alternative that I see and that's to spend time over a longer period than them, until your fittings and skills are beginning to seem a lot less far behind. By the time you have already filled weaponry and proficiency skills, dropsuit and more or whatever it is you want, they're branching into vehicle control skills and choosing their second roles.
This is how I see it anyway. Just kill and be happy.

It's really not that hard to fix.
Keep the cap at whatever it is right now but instead of reseting it tommorow, the SP I didn't earn, add onto that cap.
So on day 1, Cap was at 40k, I didn't play, 2nd day cap is at 80k meaning I can earn 80k SP. Make sense? It's not nobody wants a cap, we don't want to play DUST everyday just to keep up with nolifers. |

Which is evidence enough that the daily cap just blows. It doesn't work for anyone |

We'd like to see the game succeed. Majority of Casual Players want to feel like they're achieving something and this style of Cap helps nobody. Right now, the game is a chore to log in just so you can compete. You have people logging in to just max the cap and then they're like "Well theres no reason to play anymore, I'm off." Which is the mindset of a lot of players. They need something to "achieve" and ISK doesn't cut it. |

Wow, you really need to learn how to read. What I said was that he made his choice and it wasn't gaming, so why allow him and like minded people to **** it up for the people who are gamers?
Secondly, you need to learn some maths. With the current SP cap and the 100 skills available it will take approx 4.5 years to max each one. As it stands the vast majority of the content only includes Caldari or Galente varients, each requiring their own set of skills. We are still waiting for more Amarr and Mimnatar content and all the skills to go with that. Then there's the command drop suits we are expecting, the medium sized ground and areial vehicles, a shed tonne more weapons and equipment etc. etc. What your looking at currently is probably only about 25% of the planned content for full release. After that you have the yearly expansions CCP will likely do the same as they do with eve. Your 7 year plan is garanteed without your dumbass skill cap. |

So because he had a kid which has nothing to do with gaming and hes happy with the current system because it still allows him to play a bit of DUST and spend time with his kid you decide to be a dumbass because you dont like the current cap? go figure
7yrs is not achievable without a cap, if you have no cap and can gain as many SP as possible it would be easy to max out in most likely a year maybe 2 at the most. Ive been able to hit 30mil in SP in a few weeks and that was when the build was only open on the weekends with it being open 24/7 its even easier |

SP cap is almost perfect now, you just need a way to be able to make up for missed days each week, without going over your max cap, and it will be perfect. |

You do realize this daily cap in SP is just for the two weeks prior to open beta for the beta testers to get a bonus for testing right?
CCP will have a new system in place around the open beta date.
A lack of communication about the SP CAP is a clear sign that its a temporary cap, this gives us the testers 48,000 per day until the Open beta. A nice head start on the open beta players.
Looking forward to the new SP cap, which we assume is a pool/reserve system previously mentioned. |
