CCP Frame wrote: Dear players,
Today Tranquility will go offline for an extended period of time starting from 11:00 GMT. Server is expected to come back up at 12:30 GMT. Today's hotfix will improve battle server performance and stability.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Thats grand, but why wait until 19 mins before server downtime to tell us this? Surely you knew you were going to require an extended downtime far earlier? Having extended downtimes is of no consequence but it's not exactly fair to be dropping it on us at the last minute. Some of us do have other things to do in the day and need to plan our time accordingly.
I think communications between CCP and its playerbase is in need of some improvement. |

Didn't they drop these news before the downtime? Then you will have more than an hour to read them and react accordingly! And sometimes a flaw in the code can be discovered right in the last moment, and so they estimate approximate time needed to fix it. I'm not saying that today is this case, but nevertheless, I don't really see the problem. It's just half an hour more. |

Well, ya'll have done an outstanding job our addressing the example rather than the subject at hand.
As you raised it, let's take the SP cap as another example. Have you seen any information from CCP on how they plan to change the SP cap prior to a new build? No. We have to wait until after a build is released to figure out exactly what CCP has done and then we usually end up moaning about it!
Surely, this process is far more counter-productive compared to CCP improving their communication skills and getting more actively involved with these disscussions and seeing what the majority of the community actually want and reflect on this with the players with respect to CCP's policies.
Take a look through the Dev posts, 75% of the communications from CCP are locking threads for abuse and trolling rather than actually discussing development issues with the playerbase, which I was lead to believe was the purpose of this forum.
So, I'll say it again.
Communication between CCP and its players is in need of dire improvement.

CCP has addressed the SP cap. This is where they want it. It may not make YOU happy but they are designing for the long term and not for you to go full proto in a month and leave when you have nowhere else to advance to. |

Ahem...
There was a last minute decision to go ahead and try the fix or wait until more testing can be done and delay it another day. |

Needs improvement?
They already communicate better than a good 90% of game devs out there, espc the big companys who say nothing about anything even if its game breaking |
