A thread dedicated to those who perform great deeds but (for whatever reason) we didn't get their names.
I was playing an Ambush match and I decided to call in a tank to tip things in our favor. Just as the tank was being delivered an enemy comes over the hill. A fire-fight ensues and I drop to the ground. A friendly group comes up and finishes off the attacker while I wait on the ground chanting 'please don't steal my tank!' A logi revives me and then heads straight for my tank. I was thinking all sorts of evil things about him when I hopped into the tank and was placed in one of the support turrets, but (to my surprise) the driver's seat becomes available! And I was in squad chat so I know he couldn't hear me.
Anyway, enough of the enemy switches to AV that a group of our team is able to flank the enemy's camp and clear it out, resulting in a win (with my tank intact, too!). So thank you very much, friendly group of blue dots (and the logi in particular), for saving my butt and not stealing my equipment. If we ever meet in real life I'll buy you the drink of your choice! |

Despite countless dropship losses, some dropship pilot kept putting groups of people (after patiently waiting in the spawn for people to board) over the most lightly defended objectives. Unfortunately, we always ended up getting separated and killed on the ground due to lack of communication. |

To the unfortunate soul who eagerly leapt into my dropship as i patiently waited for passangers, during what was only my 2nd flight in a DS (the first never making it off the ground), i somehow managed to land on my side in the middle of the battlefield. Not wanting to abandon my expensive nooby DS, i sat in it trying to right myself again, but to no avail. I was stuck.
This fella stuck with me for a good 30 seconds before getting out. I thought he was off to carry on his merry way. But no, he called in an LAV and proceded to nudge me in a heroic attempt to get me airborn again. I remember his name had a lot of sixes in it, followed by a world. "66666666666***". Unfortunately, the nudging resulted in him killing me and destroying my dropship. But its the thought that counts, and to you Number 6, i say thankyou for trying.
Imagine my suprise then, when 3 games later (after finally saving up enough ISK to buy a replacement DS) i call in my 3rd ever dropship, and who is it that eagerly hops aboard? 666666666something. He patiently sat there while i got comfortable with the flight controls and even took a few pot shots at the people i was woefully trying to circle.
As a final message to you Mr 6, i say i am sorry. I am sorry i plowed into that crain thing and killed us both on that 3rd fatal flight. |
