Seriously guys, if you are going to tell someone that being a lone wolf is not the ideal way to play this game, then can you at least not be freaking kittens about it?
To the OP; being a lone wolf does work if you are good enough at what you do, and contrary to popular belief, getting a ton of kills in a match does contribute to your team's efforts, even if you are doing so without getting much assistance. All of those people that contributed to a lone wolf's KDR could have helped their team out by hacking key objectives, defending their assets, and so forth. But they can't, because they got killed by some hotshot blueberry that apparently does not know how to use teamwork. Does that sound familiar to anyone, anyone at all?
Putting it simply, even lone wolves can help a team achieve victory, they just need to be damn good at it. :)
"Activates Prototype Level Flame Shield"
Edit: My point makes more sense in Ambush, since bring the enemy clone count to zero, essentially getting more kills than they do, allows the lone wolves who are consistently good at killing to be more useful. Skirmish on the other hand is a different, as said lone wolves have to be good at capping and defending assets as well as killing in order to be of use. |

Beld Errmon wrote:From one lone wolf to another the answer to your question is to get over yourself, thats how you run with a squad, they'll steal your kills you'll steal theirs, as for 1v1s, this isn't Ehonour online.
What he is trying to say is that if you ever do run with a squad or even try to work with teammates in general, leave the ego at the warbage. When you are trying to be a team player, worrying about someone stealing your kills should be the least of your worries. You'll be much less stressed out that way, trust me. :) |

"Activates Prototype Level Flame Shield" Ok, in that situation yes. But, that's someone who is already experienced. I know for certain I am not that good so I stick with team and squad mates. And definitely it's not going to be a rookie in that situation unless they're one of those above average people. Which I do believe we have some right now. And we'll probably have more when it goes open. Realistically in order to do something like that it takes a person who can move, plan and think tactically at the same time. Indeed, for those who try to be lone wolves in this game, but are not that experienced at playing Dust, it would be wise to stick with teammates and such. Joining an established corp also helps out a great deal, as this is coming from personal experience. :) |
