what i have noticed in turrets and what not is that this weapons have an explosive effect but don't deal any damage to players or anything unless u make a direct hit. But grenade/Forge/Mass drivers all have the explosive Blast radius damage and effect? so is their something I'am missing or is that just me noticing that game mechanic error? |

Nope this came after players said they we're overpowered so ccp dropped the Nerf hammer on them, missiles did used to be a lil' op but now they're absolutely worthless, even less so then the railguns. What ppl don't realize is they call op on items they don't use instead of trying to find a balance for it, which in turn ccp listens and well......Nerf hammer, useless and missiles at this point don't even have a role in the game and might as well be removed because they're so broken, but if you want them fixed, ull have to go through the player base and well, its not Gunna happen, just wait for after this post how they freak out. |

Yea true, but other then that this type of Nerf is basically making it so this weapon turrets need to be either removed or re-balanced to make their explosive impact damage radius actually deal damage. The missile Nerf on missile turrets is stupid really? its a damn missile need the Blast radius damage to be of any use. it does have a warhead on it that does a explosive chemical reaction to kill right? the Rail-gun even has an explosive blast radius effect when it strikes the ground or a structure, which should it self do a blast radius damage. Cause trying to hit directly with them is hard since their tracking speeds are slow and to me it makes this 2 turret type very useless. cant use them on HAV effectively unless the tgt is stationary and then the missile them selves cant even fly far to hit long range and rails on turrets ranges are even smaller on that of a Sniper rail gun |

Rails aren't supposed to have good splash. However, small rails are garbage at everything besides backing up real weapons, the way I see it. |

Anything with a significant blast radius is on the chopping block due to complaints. Missiles were first, but the rest will follow in time.
There is a very vocal segment who believe passionately that the heart and soul of an FPS is the dancing 1 vs 1 gunfight where the person who dances best wins every time. The problem with blast radius weapons is that they step on the feet of the dancers no matter how good a dancer they are.
It matters not if the weapon is in overall balance in the game, if it is not direct damage it is "unfair" and "noobish". That certainly is one way to design an FPS, but CCP started out with a different idea with more roles and diversified play styles. The difference of opinion has gradually shifted play toward the 1 vs. 1 dance. |

At prototype, it's just enough on small rails to actually do something, or at least it was that way when I could use proto hybrids. |

And unfortunately those that are the complainers are the COD & MW3 players that have moved over to dust and since CCP is listening to them, the game is being ruined completely!! If you want to have a defense against missles and railguns, just build an anti vehicle fit! Now the only good vehicle is a tank with all blaster turrets and that totally blows because lavs and dropships were great platforms for missle turrets. I sincerely hope that CCP realizes that they made a mistake in listening to the complainers about missle and railgun damage, otherwise this game will be almost the same as COD & MW3, and none of us really want that now do we. |

Make missiles track targets and make Rail guns have instant damage capability and a small splash damage. Then it will be more balanced. Make drop ships faster and more agile, the tanks are fine the swarm missiles should have a range, not too short but not too long. Should also get artillery, mortars or something like that making this more balanced will be difficult but I think that making underground facilities hardened from bombardments should be made and make the maps have no red zones. Make the MCC have some sort of anti infantry and tank systems so they can clear out the immediate area. but other than that I think it is fine. Just the maps are small :( |
