report him that's a clear bannable offense under EULA. Impersonating a Dev is clearly against the rules for and under any reasons. |

To be quite honest, if someone falls for such an obvious scam, they deserve to lose their isk.
Your relationship with the other inhabitants of this galaxy is one of the main appeals of this IP. I don't think the scammer should be banned. |

I'm just butt hurt kuz I got petitioned for saying "yes" one someone asked if I was a Dev in an eve channel because of my blue hue- henceforth anyone who tries to actually scam, will be rage petitioned in vengence for CCP actually taking the initial petition against me seriously, lul.

No, the people that would fall for something like that are dumbasses, although yea the scammer is still a dumbass. If I was going to scam I'd use something more believable like that. Something like my pet cat needs brain surgery and I need 5mil ISK. |

Scamming - allowed, even encouraged.
Pretending to be a Dev, no matter how good (or bad) a job he does - insta ban. |

Its still impersonating a dev, doesn't matter if its an obvious scam or if whoever falls for it did deserve it, at the end of the day hes impersonating a dev and thats violation of the rules. |

Except the scammer needs to be banned by CCP stand point. portraying as a developer is a very serious offense in just about every game. even claiming to be a developer for the company. This as resulted in very damaging lawsuits (to other games) in the past because they pinned responsibility on the developers still and its the main reason why its on just about every EULA out there now for multiplayer games. Then again most EULAs are diverged from lawsuits.
This is one of those offenses that there is no grey spot, its instant red slap nearly portraying as a developer to gain advantage, advocate message, or even just for fun they still ban you once again regardless of the scenario.
The second half of the impersonation clause is that you cannot protray to be another person or try to be another person by name and attempt at their reputation. For example you rolling an alt named 1ron Wolf Saber and trying to pretend spread information he heard IRC is grounds enough for me petition to get that guy deleted and banned.
On top of that... Losing your PSN account and all bought items is going to suck bad.
Luckily being accused of being a developer has no consequences. |
