There are two main classes of logi

Assault logi and support logi. Depending on how you build them one is a speed demon that has a slower strafe speed but overall faster speed and stamina than assault the other is slightly slower than assault slightly faster than heavy and is more a support style logi that will be less frontline and more hold me back bro as he yells from the back of the squad knowing he's safe with his meat shields in front of him..

A third build combines a bit of both this however is a testament of both FPS skill and tactical awareness, the best logi's can seamlessly transition from killing machine to walking supply depot implementing the 3 R's of logibroing in an instant.

That said if you choose to use the faster logi a little bit more armor tank is acceptable to balance it out, however on the fatboy logi suits anything past 2 basic armor plates or any combination of armor tanking that creates a greater than 6% movement penalty is simply way too slow and should be avoided.(unless you plan to exclusively follow a heavy at all time in which case it's fine since the heavies wont be able to outpace you and you will be maintaining a rep tool on them to generate guardian and triage WP's.)


A better thing to do is spend SP in shield boost and shield control along with field mech to raise the natural shields/armors and shield regen speed of logi's complimented with complex shield extenders and whatever combination of shield reg/armor rep/armor plate that your suit will allow, anything beyond 300HP armor is unwarranted for a logi at this stage of the build, as shield tanking becomes less viable that may change.

Point is their is no BEST logi build there is simply the logi build that works best for you. Any debate over what a logi should and should not be is more a philosophical/tactical issue and it depends entirely on the players you squad/team with and their style of play... a good logi should compliment it but not every logi is interchangeable.

Logi have enough slots they can do either or both. Depends on the job.
If you need logi fit to run with a fast shield tanking squad, fit extenders and regulators.
If you need logi to run with a gang of heavies and logi, fit plates and damage mods.
Maybe you need to run e-war and fit sensor mods and run an honor tank.

Logi suits have more flexibility by design, both in slots and cpu/pg.
Throw in mixed assortments of tools on top of all this.
