You can use M/KB, granted the support on it isnt quite robust as it should be but it will get there.
Ive been using a cheap microsoft optical mouse with my move navigation controller,
Just bought the Corsair M60 on newegg, $10 off no shipping or tax plus an additional $15 off from manufacturer in form of prepaid visa card due to me in about 10 weeks. All said $35 for one of the best if not best FPS mouse on market and it works very well with Dust according to feedback from others. |

Its ok. It lacks the depth of a typical pc mmo but the game is still young. Im enjoying the current gameplay for now. |

Well, I am a regular Eve player and here is what I think in short.
I like the idea behind Dust 514 as a whole and hope it will last long and prosper in the future like Eve did and still does. I tried the game at the very beginning of its closed beta and was disappointed at the beginning 'cause I never participated to a closed beta phase before and found out why. Not much contant but it kept me away to judge the game so early of course.
I personally would like to see a more advanced graphics engine for the game. The PS3 is in my opinion able to handle a lot more than the Unreal 3 engine and I really want to see this improved in Dusts future and I am confident in that.
I stay away from statements like they appear in the official Eve forums by hardcore Eve players who don't see the possibilities in this game and forget the big picture, to expand the Eve universe as a whole.
So as a regular to Eve I say, welcome Dust 514 and all its participants. I hope you enjoy the game like I enjoy to follow its development. A new PS3 is on the list this year. The old one... disappeared.
See you on the battlefield... soon(TM). |

Im hoping if this thing drops on PS4 they can port it over to their original engine cause that looked sweet, not sure if thats practical or even possible since i have no clue how you can change the engine of the game without breaking the crap outta it. |

Bittervet here. Choice of ps3 as platform was odd, but I suppose it's because the console design fits dark spaceships theme.
The game rocks. It's a working mixture of counter-strike (high competitive potential and skill returns), eve (economy, persistence, promise of updates) and battlefield (tanks).
Fps issues should not happen as much as they do. Some maps clock in at less than 10fps, which really eats off some of the slick competive finish.
The biggest gripe, in comparison to eve, is the horrible unfunctionality of chat, mail, market and the rest of sandbox features. Mouse cursor and optional merc quarters (just a nice flat fast loading menu, please) would go far in improving this. |

What he said. (Though I am about to cut back to two EVE accounts as DUST 514 is eating up all my time.)

I used to walk around in the merc quarters but then they made it so you couldn't hop over the couch.
Don't think I have moved in merc quarters for at least 2 if not 3 months. I access all menus right from the neocom. If menu navigation is poor on KBM that is too bad, and should be improved. UI navigation with controller is a little wonky and not as well designed as the UI for some more robust console games where you have lots of items and options, but it does beat walking around the merc quarters.
And this is from a player that almost never uses the fast travel option in a game if there is one...
Edit* I still really like having quarters. If just for the sake of an added layer of immersion. But if a merc exists as a pure and portable consciousness then there really is no reason not to have an optional quarters. Neocom is the next best thing. |
