What if CCP created an augmentation booster (purchasable using AUR) that allowed players to reset their SP cap? |

DCUO has a very similar system with their "replay badges". "Replay Badges allows SOE to make tons of money on top of the micro transactions and subs. |

I think one way they could implement this would be to have a global cap that equals the maximum anyone could reach if starting from day 1 and maxing SP every day going forward up to the current point in time. If a cap reset allowed people to reach but not exceed that global cap in the form of catching up to people who have been playing longer, I think I'd be ok with it. |

CCP specifically stated that there will be no pay to win features - regardless of the success some of the micro-transcations have had for other games. |

It's not really pay to win. You pay so you can reach the SP cap early.
For people like me who has job and family to take care of, I can't be in Dust 514 24/7 just to level up. I have passive and active booster which helps me to catch up. So after two hours of gaming, I'm getting 75 SP. That means, it's time to do something else.

let's look at the numbers shall we? 8,760,000 or 13, 140,000 SP to skill my character with from PASSIVE ONLY what am i missing without playing 27,000 to 40,800....... 9,855,000 or 14,892,000
this means over half of your gains are active
but let's just look at monetary value of SP.... 27,000 daily no boosters.... thats 9,855,000 without booster yearly 40,800 with a booster... 14,892,000 w/booster yearly 24,000 passive without booster or 8,760,000 without booster yearly 36,000 with booster..13,140,000 w/booster yearly This is all without any fluctuations, no missing days
These will even out over time with people having a booster, not having a booster, missing days, so on so forth
I dont see this as a P2W system I see it more like a Fast Pass System. |

Yes but all the items that you can get with Aurum you can eventually get with ISK or some equivalent, as for increases in SP cap, past 4-5M SP it really doesnt matter how much SP you accrue all you get is more versatility.
So id say its more pay to get ahead but not necessarily win. Perhaps in the early short term like the first 2-3 months of a career but over the longer yearly term no not so much. |
