Rationale:
The name "Dust Bunnies" is meant to be a jab at Dust mercs because bunnies are furry little lovable creatures. No Dust merc wants to be associate with anything lovable, little, or furry.
Similarly, peas are small, green, and sweet....AND eatable. Capsuleers most certainly do not want to be referred as "sweet," much less small and green or consumable by Dust mercs.

Capsuleer; (official term?)
Empyrean; (a little too highbrow?)
Pod Jockey; (mildly derogatory, closest to Dust Bunny IMHO)
Eggers; (rarely used, but a little more insulting)
And for completeness, names for us:-
Mercs
Ground Pounders (GroPo's)
Dust Bunnies (seems more relavent to players than characters?)

And you would give those space goons a lecture in Eve language.
...now I start to fortify a nickname for myself and I don't even call the Dust mercenaries dust bunnies or dusties. Who came up with that thing anyway? |

We've been called Dust Bunnies for as long as I've heard of Dust,
been playing since June...
Still have no Idea why or where it came from...

From what I know here it is.
Emperyans (Official Term used by New Eden Governments in referencing to eve online pilots)
Capsuleer (Official Term used by Corporations in referencing to eve online pilots)
Pod Captain/Pilot (official rank name)
Egger (a very common derogatory term in New Eden already from various people.)
Demi-god (a semi-common term used by those fearful of the pilots, typically those on the receiving end)
as for dust bunnies...
I suspect the guristas had something to do with it. |

And has named one of her Sniper Rifles "Bunny" in honour of the nickname.
Personally, I vote "Angels" since they fly and the name of their game can be taken (irrelevantly) as a biblical reference. |
