considering we just had a SP reset I have a question,
Do any of the starting choices determine anything in regards to skills?
I want to be more scout like but most of the scout skills seem very expensive like hacking(there were others as well but that was most notable.) so I am just wondering if deleting and remaking my character could do anything to lower costs of the more scout like skills(I forgot what I even chose for character creation.)
checking what I started with skill wise, weaponry, sniper rifle, shield skills combat engineering and dropsuit command. |

Yes, there are 4 optional design builds on character creation. Start a second character to see the options. |

Actually i have found that a logi has a natural hacking bonus that seems to be tied into selecting the artificer class and that hacking bonus carries across to any dropsuits you play with so long as you choose to be an artificer class to start.
For instance when i use my dragonfly scout suit i still have the same hacking speed as my logi suit hence why i think it is linked to choosing to begin as an artificer as opposed to enforcer, arbitrer, or sentinel.
I think it is a passive inherent bonus tied directly into the class not the suit. Can anyone else confirm/debunk this if they started as an assualt or other class do you have a quicker hacking speeds in a logi suit?
As for the other classes they dont have any bonuses/resistances that i am aware of as of yet, so if im correct a good idea might be to choose artificer class so you get the extra hacking speed but spec into the class you want since the starting skills for artificer are a lot of the core skills you'd want anyway the only thing you would have to do is go dropsuit II and then choose the suit you want(obviously this isnt too viable if you want to be a heavy but if you have an exile you can still go assault quickly and use other militia gear until you spec into it same with scout especially if you have dragonfly or skinweaves).
Obviously this might negate the headstart you get from the SP allocation differences b/w the classes but since its only 140,000 SP and the cost of the skill books it not something that would take more than a week to get you back on track, and you'll a nice hacking speed bonus.
Take this with a grain of salt as im speculating about the bonus being tied to my class selection and not dropsuit, as i said need confirm/debunk on this and also should note CCP will probably eventually tie in bonuses or resistances to the other classes(wouldnt surprise me if heavies didnt have a natural armor resistance and scout have a natural scan dampener already just not noticed since they arent tangibly noticeable like the hacking speed). |

I believe that it's the logi suit that gives you the bonus to hacking speed but I can not say with absolute certainty. |
